Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Homes Dot Com Giveaway

  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Dec 5th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: We always beg every vendor to ship internationally but some companies are not legally able to vend things beyond the US (more on that here). This giveaway is open to The United States & Canada.

HOMES ME! I would have more living/hanging out space. We have a great house, but we only have about a postage stamp-sized room for playing with our boys, so more space would be what I’d look for in another place.

I would definitely look for a house on a quieter street. And with more closets. And a bigger yard. And without increasing my mortgage payments :)

We would look for something with a more open layout. The kitchen is a little too cut off from the rest of the house right now, but we still love our house!

Homes me! Weirdly enough, my must-have for the house itself is ‘SMALLER!’ I want a tiny home so badly.

Of course I also want a house on the beach somewhere cold and rocky, so I’m hoping the tiny makes the other easier to pull off!

It would have to be more living space. We’re in the middle of renovating our home to open up the living area (kitchen/dining room/living room) and had to put on an addition to get the space we needed.

    HOMES ME!

The must haves in a house for my family would be 3 bedrooms, an office area, a garage, and no shared walls with the neighbors. We’ve lived in apartments for so many years it would be awesome to let my teenagers be normally loud without worrying if their music is going to wake the baby next door. :D

HOMES ME! In our next house, we need higher ceilings. Ours are standard height, but my husband is about 7 feet tall – that means all kinds of fun light fixtures and whatnot are out of the question, since my husband is likely to bounce off of anything that hangs down more than a few inches!

    HOMES ME!

Just bought my first house so of course it’s not my dream home yet. But when that day comes you’d better believe I will have some massive vaulted ceilings and tons of windows! I love the openness those things combined give a house, no matter how large or small the square footage.
