An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!
With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Definitely a garage… This whole scrapping off your windshield when it is below zero is no fun. :(
Jennifer says

HOMES ME!
I would love to have an indoor laundry room (not in the garage) that would be big enough to have a gift wrapping station where we could also put all of those little things that clutter up the kitchen and linen closet. Also, we would love to have a pool and guest house.
Carly Miller-Carbaugh says
Homes me please! I love my house, but a nice flat backyard would be great. The hill we live on can be limiting!
NancyY says
HOMES ME!
Top of the list for sure – good schools + walkable neighborhood, but I wouldn’t turn down a fenced back yard either.
Kristen says
Homes ME! I would definitely look for a home closer to where I work!

HOMES ME!
My list is so long. We’ve been long-term renters, but after having our first child just a few weeks ago, I’m getting sick of relying on landlords to take care of things in their own sweet time. My “must have” is just that its my home and I can do with it what I need when I need to.

Homes me!
I would love a house with a bigger entranceway. Something with a mudroom off to the side or something. That’s the only thing missing from our current house — more space for coats/boots/people as we enter the house!
Sarah says
HOMES ME!
I would love to find a house that is more “open-concept” or one that could be modified to be that way. I’d also like one where the laundry machines are on the first floor and not in the basement!
Margie says
HOLMES ME!
I would love a pool in our next home!!!
Margie says
*HOMES!

HOMES ME!
Our current home is nearly just right for us but at the top of my “must have” list would be a giant mud room which we’re currently missing.
Melissa Reid says
HOMES ME! After living in my first home for almost 10 years, the first thing I want is a bigger kitchen, followed closely by a 2-car garage for the expanding driving family, and a workshop for all the tools.
Jennifer says
“Homes Me” I would grab a little more square footage but not too much because I don’t want to clean it.
Katie says
HOMES ME!
If we could buy a new house, I would want a big playroom for the kids! I can’t stand constantly tripping over toys in our living room.
Paige says
Homes me! If I were to look for another house today, I would want a place for my husband to have a “workshop”. His tool and gadget collection is reaching our current home’s breaking point!
Jami says
HOMES ME!
I would look for an off-the-grid home with a bunker….gotta get ready for the Zombie Apocalypse ;)

We just bought a new house this year! Your site and book has given me LOTS of inspiration:) Our one must/like to have that we didn’t get was a garage, but we are going to build one this summer or next!
Sarah says
HOMES ME! I gotta say… the thing I most want would be to owe less than the house is worth… buying in 2007 wasn’t the greatest idea ;-)

HOMES ME!
I would seek more entertaining areas, a fourth bedroom, and a third bathroom.

Homes me!
A bigger yard would be awesome!

HOMES ME!
Tough call between a bigger better bathroom, walk-in closet or a yard. I tend to lean towards the first two…my dog hasn’t filed a formal no yard complaint yet (she’s a couch/bed surfer)
