Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

    HOMES ME!
Well, we just bought our first house last year, so I’ll tell you what we looked for, cause this house had it all. A large kitchen, acreage, enough room for my three kids to each have a room and for a spare guest room/office, and a fixer-uper. We got all that and more!

We need more space in our next place! With just 1,000 square feet in our current condo, a detached house with more room is a must for my wife and I.

I think it would be fun to have one of those hidden rooms behind a bookshelf or wall panel! Not a must have…but a girl can dream…(plus those rooms are always in super hawt houses, so there’s that!)

I would find a home near where I currently live, but closer to the downtown arts district. A must have, however, would be built in shelves and a fireplace in the living room. Most homes in my are restored from the 20s-40s and include goregous details in the structure of the homes!

We need a bigger garage…or a shop! Hubs has a LOT of stuff with motors. And tools. And DIY supplies (aka: tools). Two tool chests (more tools). And the poochie’s very own alone-time-it’s-too-noisy-in-the-house space. You’d be amazed at what he can get into a standard two-car garage….seriously.

We are sort of looking for a house right now. I think our #1 priority is a kitchen that isn’t the size of a child’s play kitchen (which is basically what we have now). I’m pretty certain our realtor could show us a house with just a regular sized kitchen and a bedroom and we would be in love.
