Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

As a renter currently, I want a home with more space. Location is key also.

HOMES ME! We just bought our first home, and the huge selling point for us was the large yard (just under 4 acres!) and the two very large walk-in master closets.

HOMES ME! I’d love something between my office and my husband’s office, in a neighborhood with a good school. Preferably with even more interior space than our current place — and a great garden area would be a bonus, too.

    HOMES ME!!

Already have that “next house” list – bought our house as a couple of newlyweds on the career kick. Baby No. 2 is now on the way, and although things like shower pressure, location near work, and having a dishwasher are all still in the top 10, having a garage and a playroom have now joined that top o’ the list.

I am currently in the renting stage of my life but I’d love to have a home near the Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis–gorgeous neighborhood, ridiculously lovely houses, and a quaint setting in the middle of the city. Count me in!

I would downsize even more. I don’t plan on moving for awhile, I want to make sure my son has graduated school & is settled in a job. Then I’m moving into my empty nester home, hopefully out in the country!
I will make sure there is a guest room for him – or a sleeper sofa at least :)

    HOMES ME!

I love a lot of things about our current house, but our next house better have a bigger master bathroom. That is the biggest thing that we can’t really change in our house due to the layout. But since we are probably not moving anytime soon, I would love $500 to put towards the plans we have for this house, especially updating the kitchen!

Homes Me! We’ll be selling our home and looking for a new one in a new town next summer. There are a lot of features I’d like, but what I’d really love is a big garage. We do so much remodeling that a basic two car garage just can’t hold our tools and materials any more.
