An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!
With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

HOMES ME!
As a renter currently, I want a home with more space. Location is key also.
Kristin says
HOMES ME! We just bought our first home, and the huge selling point for us was the large yard (just under 4 acres!) and the two very large walk-in master closets.
ella says
HOMES ME!
central ac & forced heat would be more than nice

If I were to buy a new home, It’d have to be OLD .. Original woodwork and floors, please!
Karen says
HOMES ME! I’d love something between my office and my husband’s office, in a neighborhood with a good school. Preferably with even more interior space than our current place — and a great garden area would be a bonus, too.

I’m looking for a house with some character and lots of light.

I think the first thing we would be looking for is more bedrooms… or a two stall garage! :)

HOMES ME! I would want space and privacy. It seems like in all new neighborhood developments the homes are squished together like sardines.

HOMES ME….a big backyard with a deck where I could drink coffee, read a book, and watch my little girl run around.

Our #1 must have is the property itself. If it doesn’t have good acreage on a private lot I’m not interested :)

Homes me!
If I bought a new house, I’d go for more closet space/storage and a bigger, fenced-in backyard for the kid and dogs. And I’d love for this house to be in Hawaii. ;-)

HOMES ME!!
Already have that “next house” list – bought our house as a couple of newlyweds on the career kick. Baby No. 2 is now on the way, and although things like shower pressure, location near work, and having a dishwasher are all still in the top 10, having a garage and a playroom have now joined that top o’ the list.
Ashleigh says
Homes me! I would definitely buy something with more closets, a den, and a new roof. I’d probably opt for an updated kitchen too. Actually, I think we’ll build our next house. I want an old-style house with modern conveniences.
Jenna says
Homes me!
I am currently in the renting stage of my life but I’d love to have a home near the Lake of the Isles in Minneapolis–gorgeous neighborhood, ridiculously lovely houses, and a quaint setting in the middle of the city. Count me in!
Nancy S says
HOMES ME!
I would downsize even more. I don’t plan on moving for awhile, I want to make sure my son has graduated school & is settled in a job. Then I’m moving into my empty nester home, hopefully out in the country!
I will make sure there is a guest room for him – or a sleeper sofa at least :)
Angela says
Homes me! I’d definitely be looking for a bigger kitchen.
Anna says
HOMES ME! I would want a sun room in a new house.
Jo says
Homes me! I would definitely want three bedrooms – two is not enough for when we have guests come to visit. :)
Melina says
Home me! My new husband and I are actually meeting with a realtor tomorrow to start our house hunting adventure. After renting a tiny apartment and saving pennies all we want is a little extra room to stretch out.
Erin says

Farrah says
HOMES ME! We’re still pretty new homeowners, but thinking ahead to a future house, we’d like to have a basement (on a crawlspace now).
Rachel says
HOMES ME! If i were buying a new house today, I’d definitely get more square footage. We’re in a teeeeeenny tiiiiiny 600-square foot apartment at the moment (the joys of city living!) and we’d love to have more space.
Jennifer Fankhauser says
HOMES ME!
I love a lot of things about our current house, but our next house better have a bigger master bathroom. That is the biggest thing that we can’t really change in our house due to the layout. But since we are probably not moving anytime soon, I would love $500 to put towards the plans we have for this house, especially updating the kitchen!
April says
“HOMES ME!”
We’re in a condo so even a small yard would be great.

Homes me!
I would like to actually own a home, first. Then I would fill it with all kinds of beautiful crafts and projects.

HOMES ME!

HOMES ME! – Please, I we need new doors!
Britten says
Homes Me! We’ll be selling our home and looking for a new one in a new town next summer. There are a lot of features I’d like, but what I’d really love is a big garage. We do so much remodeling that a basic two car garage just can’t hold our tools and materials any more.
Katie says
HOMES ME! I’d definitely go with a real master bathroom!
julianne says
HOMES ME!
The next house will definitely have an enormous living area with enough room for a huge sectional and lots of seating for movie viewing parties!

Home me! Urban neighborhood – think fan or church hill- with yard, garage, 4 bedrooms, finished basement and historic details. Ha!
