Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

If I bought a house today, at the top of the list would be energy efficiency and lots of insulation.

Basically that same thing that was at the top of my list when I bought my house this summer.

I would love to buy a house with all the crown moulding already installed. I loved DIYing, but that part is always a pain in the rear end (and it’s hard to do it on the cheap!).

HOMES ME! If I were to buy a new house today, I would require a room just to have an office for the hubby to study in that is away from the noise of my 3 yr old & 8 mo old. (Currently our office is a separate “room” but with the open floor plan, it doesn’t close off from the rest of the house.

ABC, 1-2-3: Our Christmas gift each year begins with the letter of the alphabet correlating to year of marriage. Our 07-07-07 wedding makes this year 6 together, so it must begin with an “F” (letter 6 of alphabet. Example, I gave my hubby Cotton Bowl tickets for “C” year Christmas.)
With Baby 2 due in 6 weeks it SURE would be nice to add a FROG (finished room over garage) to our current home. That’s a hefty “F” gift to ask ;) but seems convenient to keep clutter out of our living space!
Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy the season!

    HOME ME!!!
I would look for a house with more backyard space, and somewhere where there would be little to no snow ever. I would also like a finished basement or a new build where I could make the decisions but not have to follow through on making sure that they happen. Would also want a little more square footage as the bedrooms we have right now are a little on the small side. Plus it would give me more space to decorate!!
