Fab Freebie: Homes On Homepage

*** This giveaway is now closed. See who won below! ***

An early Christmas present (in the form of this $500 Visa gift card) has randomly chosen to come to the hands of… Mary (whose dream house would be a “big cozy log cabin out in the woods” complete with fishing pond, swimming pool, hot tub, huge whirlpool tub in her bathroom and a giant walk in closet. Her fantasy list doesn’t end there, so check out her comment for the rest). Congrats Mary!

With a URL as broad as Homes.com, there are a lot of topics you might think they cover. Because people buy homes. They decorate homes. They do home improvements. You get the idea. Well, Homes.com does cover all of those things – from all stages of the home buying process to decor and DIY. We especially enjoyed their home values and city profiles (because we’re nerds for stuff like that). But what you’ll probably enjoy the most is the chance to win a $500 Visa gift card from Homes.com this week. Yup, five hundred dolla dolla bills (in plastic form) to spend wherever you’d like for whatever stage of home ownership you’re currently enjoying. Oh yeah, and they’re also giving away a signed copy of our book over on their blog.

Our current home is in need of a deck, but if I were looking for a new home the top two must haves would be a 3+ car garage and a LARGE yard!

I currently live in a condo, so my biggest requirements are 1) a third bedroom and 2) a yard for kids and dogs to run around in.

I’ve recently moved to a new area and purchased a new home. At the top of the list of must haves/non-negotiables was and has been with every home I’ve lived in, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. You can fix anything about house except where it is.

HOMES ME!! We actually just bought our first home in August (aahh!), and we managed to get everything on our “must” list, amazingly enough. It included 2 bathrooms, a 2 car garage, an outdoor space, and a nice yard. Now that we’re actually here, our “must” list includes a little more money to cross a few things off our “‘dude, get on that already’ list.” Fingers crossed!!

HOMES ME! I live in Florida, where the number one flooring surface is ceramic tile. Thus, I have 12×12 beige ceramic tile on every square foot of my house. If I could kill it with fire, I would. Thus, when I move (out of Florida), my number one priority will be wood floors. Wide-plank dark wood floors, in a perfect world!

I love our house, I love our neighborhood, and I hope to not have to move again. Ever. But if I won, I’d use the certificate to make fun updates to improve our current home, like a flagstone sitting area in the backyard or a wood/stone accent wall in our family room.
