Fab Freebie: Housewears

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.

Lisa Leonard Pic1

I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).

Lisa Leonard Pic2

And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    WEAR ME

I have a little necklace tree in my bedroom that stands maybe 1.5′ at its peak. I drape all my necklaces on it…everything from vintage pieces from relatives & flea markets to Target to unique pieces made of abalone and butterfly wings.

In the back of my closet is a beatuiful antique dresser. Right now it’s used for PJs and un-exciting stuff like that, but I dream of restoring it to glory….or at least moving it out of the closet and into the guest room. :)

More due to lack of closet space than anything, my ridiculous number of shoes sit on a bookshelf in my bedroom, tucked next to books, hats and picture frames. A little odd, but it works.

Scarves! I always leave them on couches or chairs as if I just passed by and unintentionally left them lying there when in reality, they were carefully selected to match the room decor and season of the year!

What a fabulous giveaway! Thanks, guys (and thanks, Lisa)! I just stumbled across your website and am absolutely LOVING it. Full of such inspiration and fun ideas…and I must say, your backyard wedding was stunning and so personalized. Love the photo-booth. Anyway….

I have a shirt in my closet that is the softest, most worn-in fabric (holes, bleach stains, and all), and I would love to have sheets that comfy on our bed, but then I’d really never want to get up!! :oD

I have a hat display from three generations of my family that I wear sometimes. From my grandmother’s “Scarlett O’hara goes to the picnic at Twin Oaks” hat to my dad’s Pith helmet for when the yard work is like trying to tame a jungle, I can do many chores in style. That they live now on a wall, in a house, in a tiny village in Cornwall, England makes me look a bit more interesting when wearing them out and about.

love, love Lisa’s work… would love to win!! The cord pull to a set of blinds in our bedroom fell off, so I used a tear-drop shaped, black onyx pendant and tied it on to the loose strings! Looks fabulous hanging on the window, and works great too!

wear me! I love her jewelry and would adore owning some!

I am a huge fan of buying solid colored pashmina type scarves and I found they do a great job doubling as a table runner- especially for holidays or parties. Christmas- whip a white one along the mantle with my decor- bunch up a pink one down the center of a table of desserts for a baby shower- they are prettier (to me) than a regular flat table runner.

I have a horizontal coat rack on the wall in my room (not to hang my coats) but to hang my purses! I have so many purses and I love hanging them on the coat rack for many reasons. First since all my purses are out in the open, i am more likely to use them than if they were stored or boxed up. Second, all the colors and textures add to the decor of the room!

I love to hang my jewellery (necklaces, earrings, scarves etc) on an antique-ish style bird cage that I have sitting on my dresser. Its quite handy to loop things into the wire, dangly earrings with the hook backs hang easily over the horizontal wire and the other necklaces and bracelets etc I just randomly loop through the wire or over the top of the cage. It looks really decorative but trendy.

    Cheers,

My sister and I created our own mannequins during a painfully slow process with plaster strips, paper mache and more paper mache… Now we can discplay unfinished projects as well as clothes we like. And as a bonus when you put something on you don’t know whether you still like it, after having it in your room for ten minutes you know your feelings. I couldn’t bear to look at a few of my old things and was wondering why I wasn’t wearing them…
