Fab Freebie: Housewears

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.

Lisa Leonard Pic1

I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).

And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I display jewelry. Since I can’t wear every single piece at all times I still like to see it out so I can admire how pretty it is.

I’d rather do the opposite – transform something in my house into a piece of clothing! For example, I made my very own green damask curtains – If I were going to a fancy ball back in the day I’d totally use them to make my gown, Sound of Music style!

LOVE Lisa Leonard designs! Hoping for good luck!

I have several beautiful scarves that I actually use more as home decor then as a scarf I wear. I use them to swag over a rod for a cool window treatment, I also use them as decorative table cloths or table runners if I want to dress up a table.

Our coats and jackets double as super-sophisticated slipcovers for our dining room chairs… Ok, so they’re not super-sophisticated, but they’re… protective? Ok, it’s true; we’re just to lazy to hang them in the coat closet.

    …..WEAR ME…..

I have the prettiest large cream colored leather jewelry box that I scored from a pottery barn outlet for $20. It opens to a large mirror with a beautifully etched “K” at the bottom and a rich cream velvet lining. It would make a stunning display draped with some of the vintage costume jewelry I’ve acquired after scouring countless flea markets and antique stores over the years.

Thanks to Lisa Leonard for the opportunity to snag some her BEAUTIFUL jewelry!

I use little china saucers to hold my earrings and bracelets. They sit on top of my lingerie chest with my perfume bottles and other misc. items. They’re so pretty and each has a different pattern for a little extra color and a perfect substitute for a jewelry box. .

I wish I could use my shoes as decoration. I love wearing heels, so I have tons of colorful (but also cheap!) heels in my closet. I wish there was a way to display them in a cute creative way, because lined up next to each other on the rack make them look like art, haha.

Since high school, i’ve been using old shirts with fun patterns to make pillow case covers for accent pieces. I sometimes hang scarves on the ends of my curtian rods to add a splash of color or even for a seasonal flair. As a source of decoration though, I hang my necklaces on an old hat rack by my closet….not only in an attempt to be organized…but also as a main focal point in my bedroom.

I used decorative push pins to attach all my necklaces to the cork board and display them in my bedroom. I love the rustic look with my colorful necklaces! Hoping to add to my necklace collection!

    WEAR ME!!!

I received a poncho-like wrap from a friend for Christmas and while I am not a poncho-wearing-kind-of-girl I loved the plum and gray colors so much that it has been used as a table runner when folded in half, draped over an accent chair like a throw and rolled to look like a neckroll pillow on my sofa.
It has gotten much more use in the last two months as home decor than as a wearable object!
