Fab Freebie: Line Drawings

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries –  see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s, our three winners are Jane (who considers herself an accomplished doodler – especially during a meeting), Molly T (who dubbed herself the least crafty person ever) and Lizz (who’s no artist, but is killer at Pictionary). Congrats ladies!

You guys probably know Freshline Illustration from our monthly sponsor shout outs, but soon three of you will know them as the ones who hooked you up with some sweet art / pillows / stationery for your own home. And many of Freshline’s colorful and playful illustrations can be personalized with monograms, anniversary dates, or even your full family tree.

Freshline Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card towards any purchase from Freshline Illustration
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “DRAW ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your drawing skills. Are you a trained artist or the last one picked during a game of Pictionary? Either way, what’s your favorite thing to sketch or draw? Maybe you’re especially skilled at human portraits – or you just like to doodle your name in the margins.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Three
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Freshline Illustration.

    DRAW ME!

I used to love to draw. No, wait, I still DO like to draw, I just don’t do it nearly as much. In fact a won a couple of awards during high school for my drawings. My problem has always been inspiration– unless I’m studying a photo or a still life setup, I can’t think of how to fill in that blank page.

Definitely far from an artist. Stick figures & 5-petal flower doodels is about as skilled as i get.

Unless armed with a ruler and/or graph paper I am really bad. Other wise just bad.

    DRAW ME!

I’m a graphic designer (actually, a designer at a small college about 2.5 hrs from you in Lynchburg). I’ve never been fond of painting, but I love drawing. I really miss getting to do it on a regular basis, figure/life drawing, in particular.

DRAW ME! I’m not the most artistic person I know, but I do have a little doodle that’s close to my heart. My Daddy would draw his own version of a frog on every card I ever received – birthday, Christmas, and just-because cards. I plan to do the same for any future kiddos, nieces and nephews. :0)

DRAW ME! I once won a pumkpin-drawing contest, and my prize was a slice of the giant pumpkin! As an art student, drawing was my least favorite class (besides boring ancient art history) but has Doodling been offered, I would have been delighted!

    Draw me!

I like to make silly sketches, but my favorite thing to do is to figure out the least amount of details/lines it takes to convey some idea or to show that a doodle is a specific person. I like to think of it as minimalist sketching.

DRAW ME!!! I doodle house plans, building plans, quilt designs, dress designs, and anything my fevered brain thinks of at the time… I’m an architect, but I still love drawing by hand rather than on computer. The scritch of ink on paper makes me happy!

My doodles are fair, but my strength is in cartoon-ish people sketches. Here is one I did in MSPaint back in May.

I’m even considering tweaking them a bit and doing custom Etsy portraits in this style based on how much my friends have liked it.
