Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME

Just moved into our first house and there’s a window in the shower looking out towards our neighbor’s living room. Our current curtain solution isn’t working, nothing like a little voyeurism to start your day.

BLIND ME! We have a huge window in our living room (60 x 100) that is still in need of a window treatment, especially since our house is so close to the road. Right now, neighbors can peer in and see us eating dinner as they stroll down the street.

BLIND ME! I have a terrible view from my kitchen… my boyfriend’s (not so) considerate father tore down the wall between the kitchen and garage one day and put up double doors, telling us that he would build us a sun room… welp, years later those double doors still lead to a GARAGE.

I have nary a chance, but I’ll enter anyway! Right now I’m the bad neighbor with window treatments that are too sheer. When I’m getting ready I have to creep around, hiding behind doors to avoid giving my neighbors a free show. Good times.

Our kitchen window looks out on our backyard and we have a neighbor that’s a “fence popper.” He’d pop up over the fence and try to get my attention while I was cooking, cleaning, etc. My husband took care of that situation quickly… but I’d love to replace the curtains with wood blinds.

    BLIND ME!!!!

I have a huge (120″ wide) bay window in the living room (front of the house). This weekend I hung new matte black rods with interesting finials ($6/ea from a discount store, yay!) and light khaki-colored cotton curtains super cheap from walmart that I plan to line with drapery-lining fabric to help keep the heat in this winter. All that’s needed is some nice natural texture to get the John & Sherry look! So I’d love some suuuuuuuper wide wood or bamboo blinds. Thanks!

My kitchen has a big window that faces the street in our cul-de-sac. It’s a weird size and is even difficult to find two individual blinds that fully cover the window. My neighbors and anyone who drives down the street has a big unobstructed view into my kitchen.
