Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

We’re redoing our kitchen and will now have a huge window (hooray!), but I’d love some blinds so the whole neighborhood can’t see me washing dishes.

My view now is not bad, but the living room picture window in my very first apartment looked out over a warehouse yard full of stacked shipping containers. Yuck.

The view out my dining room window is a huge metal barn like shed my neighbors built a few months ago. Yeah, I want to cover that up.

    BLIND ME!

We live on the bottom floor of our apartment complex, and we have a kitchen window, a sliding glass patio door, and a bedroom window that are all within just a few feet from a high-traffic walking path. Right now we have fairly ugly plain blinds that we keep closed most of the time for privacy, but I’d love to have some blinds that allow for privacy but still let in light (like those amazing Veranda Soft Roman Shades on their website!)

“BLIND ME!!!” We have a huge window in the kitchen/dining area that gets full afternoon sun = super hot, especially in the summer, so blinds or shades of some sort would be perfect! On the other hand, we do have those bedroom windows upstiars and the bathroom windows downstairs…hmmmm…oh, and the living room windows…

Blind me! When my boyfriend and I headed to NYC we looked for cheap lodging on the upper west side. We found a pretty decent place, but our room was SUPER tiny. We had to tip the desk over to get to the bed. But the worst part was the window which looked straight into another apartment. This guy stayed up all night watching mexican wresting. That was a view I wish I could have blocked out!

BLIND ME! … Our house is on a corner lot so we only have one neighbor to worry about. A neighbor that parks his bright red shiny pick up truck outside everyday! I got tired of looking at his truck (although he DOES keep it spotless!) so I planted 3 bushes to make a hedge between our driveways. I felt kind of “rude” doing it though because it’s kind of like saying out loud “I’m tired of looking at your truck”. Anyway, the bushes have grown quite tall and started to fill in nicely. So happy every time I pull into the driveway and can just see parts of his now obscured truck. Yay!

Blind me – better yet blind them. We recently moved into a lofted townhome with tons of windows. Our neighbors have taken to hanging out outside our unit where you can see in through all 20 of our bare windows. My husband jokes it’s the Craig and Britney show. Help us bring that show to an end!

    BLIND ME!

I’ve lived in our 1952 house for two years and have only been able to afford two blinds for the living room (still have the front Bay to do). There are also some nasty shutters in the bathroom (with no exhaust fan) and they are getting icky-nasty and need to be replaced. The bathroom window is right next to the neighbors driveway and side door, so maximum coverage is a must unless we want to expose all to the neighbors! :-)

    Thank you!

We have playroom windows that need covering to stop from looking directly into a bedroom next door. We also have arches all through our house that allow our backdoor neighbors to see in our house (and us in theirs).
