Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!!

I desperately need to cover the window in our family room. The sun shines in half the day making in impossible to watch TV. It would be nice to have the option to let in some natural light or close it up for some reality TV viewing! :)

Blind me! I still have the MAROON mini-blinds from the previous owner in my hallway and bathroom — I been tempted to remove them but I don’t think my neighbor wants to see me get out of the shower :)

    “BLIND ME!”

I would put blinds in my son’s room because he currently has a roller shade & it’s shot. I also would put a blind in my kitchen window that is right by my sink. Currently I only have a valance! Thanks for the great giveaway!

    BLIND ME!!!

Okay, so I’ve entered lots of YHL giveaways because I think, “That would be cool!” This one is one where I’m saying, “That’s JUST what I need!” We have two windows on the front of our new house that need to be covered. My neighbors can see me cooking breakfast and running to the laundry room to get clean clothes in the morning. Our curtains from our old house don’t fit, and this would be the perfect solution!

    BLIND ME!

Our dog has an unusual quirk: he goes bananas over light reflections, like those from sunlight hitting metal, jewelry or glass. I’d like some blinds to better cover our front bay window, so we can adjust the light and calm him down.

    BLIND ME!!!

I have a 13 week old who WILL. NOT. NAP. For any mother of an infant you know that naps are the most amazing gift in the world. Better than a big bow stuck on chocolate covered money or cream cheese doughnuts.

Daylight peeks into the room tempting the child with, “Ooh! You see these? These are fluttering leaves in the wind and sunlight! They are sooo much better than going to sleep! Stay awake!!! Screw Mary Poppins and her farce of a lullaby of reverse psychology. In fact, why don’t you scream your head off at Mom to let her know how much you want to watch these leaves on the tree. Scream so much that you need to vomit breast milk curds all over the crib mattress and dry clean only crib skirt!”

So you can see, my fellow parents, while I truly wouldn’t mind if our neighbors caught sight of our darling little boy, I would much rather keep him in the dark.

    BLIND ME!

Our last home, which was a rental had blinds over all the windows, so when we bought a house, the first night I forgot my robe after a shower and just wandered into our bedroom like I would normally do – totally forgetting that there is now a window in the hallway.

    Hello new neighbors!

We took your bamboo/white curtain idea and hung it in our remarkably similar to yours living room window. However unlike your soon to be sold casa, ours isn’t as private and we are saving up for some honeycomb blinds to put behind the bamboo so people can’t see right into the house.

Well right now we live in apartments that look out onto a courtyard with more apartments on the other side. So we all are looking into each others back door. Luckily we have those lovely vertical blinds, (LOL!) Sometimes I take the dogs for a walk around the courtyard in the evening and I swear about half our neighbors have their blinds wide open! I guess some people just aren’t too worried about their privacy… Thank goodness we are on our way to buying a house in about 6 months!

BLIND ME! I live in a condo with 4 ginormous windows. Each one has a set of blinds that I’m willing to guess have been there since the building was built. The cost is fairly high to replace them, but $200 would really help! I’d like to have something that can open on the top and bottom, so my roommate could have some privacy and I could have some light. Thanks!
