Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!

I would love to put blinds in my bedroom. Our Bedroom faces the street of our house and unfortunately all we have is black out roller shades. :( which were a cheap fix for the previous owner. I love waking up to morning sunlight anyway. :)

BLIND ME! We’ve just bought a new house, stripped it, replaced everything (from floors to carpet to ceilings to windows) and I”m lookin’ to install some nice blinds in the windows we’ve just installed. There are some curious neighbors that we’d like to “keep out” during the morning hours.

We need to add a window cover to our French Door that opens onto the patio. Our less than smart Cavalier King Charles Spaniel keeps barking at the other dog (her reflection) who lives outside.

BLIND ME!!!! We could use a nice window treatment for our kitchen {I had a failed attempt at cafe curtains} or something nice for the window in our bathroom. My needed a blind story: I had just moved in to an apartment in our downtown area. It was a very old building with lots of that archetectural character- wood floors, subway tile, large windows, etc. The bathroom didn’t have a fan and after a hot shower was full of steam, so I opened the window turned off the light and walked out. A little while later I came back in, turned on the light and proceeded to get dressed. Getting that strange someone is watching me feeling I looked up to see that the window opened in to some weird ventalaiton shaft {picture a 6×6 courtyard thats 6 stories high and the bottom is cement} where three other bathroom windows meet!! The guy acrossed the shaft was in his undies brushing his teeth looking at me, and I could see right in to two other apartments! AWKWARD!

BLIND ME! I would love to cover all the windows in our house (we have no blinds or curtains!), and the top priority is a toss-up between our bedroom window (because the streetlight is just a little too bright at night) and our bathroom window (because it’s on the ground floor, you get the idea).

I would like to add some roman shades to my master bedroom window. Our backyard has a ton of privacy since there are so many trees, but with winter approaching, I’m pretty sure our neighbors will get a nice peep show soon once all the leaves have fallen. Blinds to the rescue!

    BLIND ME!

In my front guest bedroom, which faces east, there is a semi-circle above the very large window. This semi-circle is currently unblinded and lets in a lot of morning sun – great during the winter, terrible in the summer. I would love to spend the $200 on blinds for that space!!

I have a split shift day sleeper husband that could really use some nice shutters to block out the sun from time to time. Lucky us we have amazing natural light pouring into our home all day, not so lucky when the Mr. needs some shut eye!

I’m glad the view from our bedroom windows (which look into the neighbor’s kitchen) is covered…no need for them to see us stark naked while they make dinner!

We really need new roman shades for our recently updated kitchen. There are currently some ugly plaid shades that went better with the before look.
