Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

Blind me! Actually, the view from my husband’s office is nice enough but since it’s actually a sunporch with three walls of windows, the room bakes all summer and freezes all winter. We would love to get some insulated blinds.

We need blinds in our open sunny playroom/guest-room for privacy as we live right off of a busy road. It’s the one room in the house that doesn’t have any kind of window treatments.

    BLIND ME!

When we moved into our house, only ONE of the rooms had window coverings. And our neighbors are literally 10 feet away from us. I’ve been sewing curtains for rooms, one by one, but I’d love the opportunity to cover our dining room windows. That way, when we have our south neighbors over for dinner, the north ones won’t know! ;)

    BLIND ME!!!

I really want to cover the window in the water closet. Not only is it obvious when you are sitting or standing (in my husband’s case) at the throne, but my it’s my boss who lives across the street who has the most spectacular view. For our sake and hers… I’m hanging a towel until I can get blinds for that window.

    BLIND ME!

Our home is directly behind my workplace, so as my coworkers drive in and out of the parking lot, they are privy to whatever is going on in the back of my home (the un-blinded windows, if you will).. often times in the morning, that means they see me searching for the clothes I’d like to wear that day :) No bueno!

Would love to have blinds for the bedroom… Currently have wonderful drapes that are a little more see-through than I’m comfortable with :) And since it’s a 1930’s bungalow, finding pre-made blinds at an appropriate size for inside mounting is impossible…

We just bought a new home, and it’s a bit of a (unfinished) mess inside. The view I’m hoping to cover up would be to the inside of our house as it has nothing over the windows currently.

    BLIND ME!

My fiance and I just moved into our (fixer uper) house a few months ago and our entire downstairs is in need of blinds. For whatever reason our time and money are constantly eaten up by our wedding or other rooms in the house and we’ve neglected to get blinds! Eating dinner in our dining room is like eating in a fish bowl (especially living on a corner lot in a walkable cute town).

    BLIND ME!

We’ve got a beautiful big window in the front room (office) of our house that looks out onto our front yard and street. It’s a great view but we still have the icky, gray, skinny, metal blinds that the previous owners had hung and it puts a damper on the whole room! We’re dying to toss them and put something more fresh and clean looking!

I want to put a new shade on one of the windows in our master bedroom. It looks directly into our neighbors back yard. And it’s not pretty. They have a ripped back door screen, an enormous basketball goal laying on its side, and a bunch of broken chairs. I desperately need a new shade!

Our bedroom, aka, the Pit of Despair, is DARK DARK DARK with our crappy, 1970s shades closed. But when they’re open, I can see directly into my neighbor’s BATHROOM!! To save his face and my embarassment, I literally have to avoid opening my blinds at a certain time each morning becuase of his, ahem, morning bathroom visit. We BOTH need privacy AND natural light to light our dark rooms. Save me, Next Day Blinds. You’re my only hope. :)

    “BLIND ME!”

We bought one of those ‘we’ll cut it for you’ blinds from a local home improvement store and let’s just say that the gal that cut it for us must have been out of practice as the shade is about and 3/4inch too large on either side and doesn’t even fit in our window…we have to pull the shade forward to open it otherwise it gets all bendy and kaddywompus and only raises like 2 inches from the sill…an actually fitting shade would be the bees knees! : )

P.S. So excited for you guys and the new place! Looking forward to seeing how you transform it and make it your own! : ) Thanks for sharing your experiences with us!
