Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

Funny story actually: A friend from NYC didn’t like hanging out at another friend’s house in upstate NY because he couldn’t see what was outside in the backyard. He was so used to the buildings being close (and neighbors looking in), he felt more comfortable knowing what was right there. He’d probably block the big open view of my other friend’s house!

I need this so badly! My living room window is an odd size and I’m having such a hard time finding a blind for it. When I do… it’s out of my budget. :(

That window looks out across the street to my neighbor’s backyard…. which is always full of junk. I’d love to block that view. LOL

I would love to come up with a solution for our big picture window in our living room. We live on a curve in the road, so as people drive down the road we live on, they look DIRECTLY into our living room as they turn the curve. This wouldn’t be such a big problem if we didn’t spend almost all our time in this room. And our television faces the window, so I’m constantly feeling like people are judging us by what tv show I’m watching! :) I’ve even had a neighbor say “hey, I noticed you were watching Top Chef last night, I didn’t get to see the end, who got kicked off?” ACK!

Blind Me….well living in Boston with most of the homes connected or very close together, window coverings are a must. We moved into a new home in April and I still need blinds in my Master Bath, it is at least 4 stories up from the street, but I do worry that people a couple of streets behind can still see in the windows.

Our master bath has a window that I love for the natural lighting it gives us, but my husband hates because he’s afraid our neighbors who live 5 acres away can see in. Really, Honey, do they use binoculars or something? Actually, maybe they do (creepy!!)…

Anyways, I would love to get some shutters for that window so we can get rid of the ugly blinds that are covering it right now.

Our bedroom has two windows and a sliding glass door that I love, but unfortunately that means that anyone who happens to be in our backyard (or peering over our fence) can have a lovely view right intow our bedroom. No thank you! We’ve put up some curtains for the time being, but new blinds would be lovely!

Currently I’m helping my boyfriend update his new home and for some reason the previous owners enjoyed blinds that were all too short for the windows. So getting blinds long enough would help me feel a little less like the neighbors can still see us at night.

I’ve always been terrified my necklaces’d BLIND ME someday while running on the treadmill; some of those more modern, sculptural pieces are pretty lethal. But anyways, more apt would be slipping in the tub while diving to hide from the neighbors who have a clear view straight into my shower heaven.
