Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

We are switching houses with my in-laws who are notoriously… um…. fiscally conscious(read: cheap) and haven’t done a thing to their house since 1970. For real. All the blinds in the 25 windows of the house are either broken or missing. I need to replace the window coverings on all 25 windows but can’t afford it! Help – please BLIND ME!!! :) $200 could help me at least get my daughter’s room covered – her windows are currently bare. (*tear*)

Our window in the living room gets beaten down on hard by the sun, which makes the room like a little oven in the summer. It would be nice to have some shutters or thick blinds to help us control how much sunlight comes in. Plus, the window is an odd size which makes finding blinds that fit it well and aren’t mega expensive difficult!

It’s not the view out I want to blind, it’s the view in. Our side door, which we use as a main door, is 1/2 glass, and approaching visitors can see straight in– to the kitchen and down the hall to the bathroom too. The previous homeowners had a country-style valance which I finally just ripped down because I couldn’t stand looking at it. I thought of doing privacy film like you guys did in your basement, but I want to be able to see out some of the time.

The house that we just bought was from a family member and they left us their old curtains/blinds. Every single window in our entire house is decorated with an off-white, very frilly Curtain & Blind combination (we’re talking “Country Curtains” circa 1995). Did I mention that they are on every single window in the entire house?? The only reason they are still up is because they provide us with privacy and we have not yet been able to replace them. They desperately need to be replaced with something fresh and modern!

Blind me and help me finish remodel a bedroom in our house! We are so close to finishing…and one thing left is blinds for the 2 windows! I would love to have the blinds because without blinds our view is a cemetery behind our house. Not to mention we have over 20 windows in our house so it’s been expensive getting them all covered!

We recently built a 7 foot wood fence around our backyard and side yard (we are on a corner lot) to give us privacy and make a safe place for our kids to play. It now blocks the view out of our kitchen and breakfast nook that used to look out onto a somewhat busy side street.

BLIND ME! Our front bedroom has large windows that all the neighbors can see through. Unfortunately the view goes straight through into the guest bathroom as well. If a guest forgets to shut the door all the way (or the cat opens it while someone is in there) they can get a mighty good show.

Our desk that we have in our kitchen sits right under a window. It faces the neighbors house, right into one of their windows, about 10 feet away. I’ve recently started working from home on Mondays, so I get to work at the desk and it creepily looks like I’m staring right into their window. Good thing their house is for sale and is currently vacant. That’s gonna be strange when people move in…
