Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!

We just bought our house and the old owners hadn’t updated ANYTHING since they bought it in 1983. The first thing to get the boot were all of the window treatments and somehow they have been the last thing for me to replace. Our living room is on display to the whole neighborhood (think 5, 5’x2′ windows facing the street)

and my neighbors…please! We only have sheer curtains in our master bedroom therefore we don’t on the light in the evening because otherwise the neighbors and others (we have a corner lot) can see straight in! We’re hoping to buy blinds after Christmas but your fab freebie would help a great deal. Thanks!

Please “blind me”! We live on the first floor of an apartment building in Astoria, Queens. The very very very old blinds that came with the place had to go (they are stacked under our bed so we can put them back when we move). I would love to replace them with the Key West Natural Roman Shades in Tortoise Shell- with privacy liner!

BLIND ME! We’ve been in our house for about 2.5 years, and just can’t get rid of our uber-cheap temporary blinds upstairs :D — it’d be nice to be a grown up and have proper blinds to keep the neighbors from looking directly into our bedroom or the new nursery :)!

BLIND ME! I would love to cover up the hallway window that looks right onto our street. I haven’t found the right window treatment for it, but it is the most viewed spot in our house. I’m thinking that a shutter might look best for that window…and maybe even the bathroom window as well. A little cottage charm! :)

We are fixing up our 1972 house, and have been for a year. And we still haven’t put up curtains or blinds on all of the windows! The first thing I did was tear down all the old ugly and dusty ones. We did finally put some on our huge front window so we don’t get too personal with passersby. ;)

We have sliding glass doors that lead from our kitchen to our back deck – at night we can see the neighbors across the back alley on their deck smoking, and I can’t get over the feeling that they’re watching us in the kitchen, like TV! I’d love to have some kind of blinds to keep our kitchen private!

    BLIND ME!

My husband works nights, I work days…. We NEED black out curtains for hubby (and the kitties). With curtains the kitties can still climb behind them and jump up onto the ledge during the day to sun themselves, and watch the bird action outside. My poor husband currently has to listen to metal blinds being banged around when the kitties get excited while peering out….. Also, the upcoming winter would be cozier and we’d be more energy efficient if we had the warmth and protection from a curtain.
