Fab Freebie: Love Is Blinds

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Sure, we’d all love to gaze out of our home’s windows at some breathtakingly beautiful vista. But in reality, some windows are portals to the back of the neighbor’s fence, an unwelcome glare, or even the view of a man walking around in his tighty-whities all night because he doesn’t realize his curtains are sheer (true story from my New York City days – yup, just like the naked guy from Friends). All the more reason to appreciate window coverings, like these beauties from Next Day Blinds:

NextDayBlinds Image 1

This week Next Day Blinds is shucking out $200 to one lucky lad or lady to spend towards any custom-made, premium-quality, ready-the-next-day blinds, shades, sheers, rollers, romans or even shutters. And they’ve got enough styles to make your head spin (which you can browse right here).

NextDayBlinds Image 2

Here are the giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $200 towards any Next Day Blinds order
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “BLIND ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about a view you wish you could cover (or are glad that you’ve already covered). Maybe the neighbors can look right into your bathroom (or vice versa)? Or you once stayed in a hotel room with a not so nice view?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 10th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

And our one lucky winner (as selected by random.org) is… Hien (who’s looking to cover up some sun-drenched kitchen windows). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Next Day Blinds.

    BLIND ME!

In my last apartment, I could see right into the neighbor’s bedroom window. I love having the blinds open and getting sunlight in, but was not willing to risk an unpleasant view!!

    Blind me!

We spent lots of $$ putting up plantation shutters on a bay window in our master bedroom. We needed them desperately because our overly friendly next door neighbor likes to trot though our backyard (right past the master window) to our backdoor to pay us a visit! One morning we were still lying in bed and we knew it was time for shutters!

    BLIND ME!

We just bought a new house and took down most of the window coverings immediately, since they mostly consisted of a mix of 1980’s forest green and dusty rose curtains and blinds. So, needless to say, we could really use new window coverings everywhere!

Pretty Please? I desperately need to outfit my house with new blinds! All 20+ windows were covered in broken, dirty, white plastic mini blinds when I moved in. In a perfect world I would just remove all traces of the three young bachelors that lived here before me, but practicality prevails. I’ve been replacing the blinds over the last few months, but not quickly enough!

I live on a first floor condo, it’s elevated so it’s not ground-level, but it’s still the first floor. Problem is I love having the windows open. My goal for this winter is to replace all the windows with top-down/bottom-up versions and the coverings to match. That way I can have open windows AND privacy!

BLIND ME! I love the show, “American Pickers” but I don’t need to see the junk yard my neighbor has cultivated in his back yard. Old trucks, toys, american flags, machinery, furniture of all sorts… I’m sure he has some cool stuff buried out there but from my kitchen it certainly does not look appetizing. Help?

So we are renters (bah, student loans don’t cover down payments!) but my mom is replacing some of the windows in the house I grew up in to be more energy efficient (so they don’t frost up on the inside this winter!) and I would love to get her some snazzy blinds to go with them :)

BLIND ME. We have one window in our office where standard size blinds don’t fit, and we have it covered with an old (but clean!) shower curtain. We’ve been meaning to buy an actual curtain with rod (for the last two years) but just haven’t yet. A custom blind that fit would be very nice.

I’ve always tried to consider the view when moving so have managed to avoid major eye sores where ever we’ve lived. But…during my college years, I lived in an apartment that faced a Wendy’s and got to hear what people ordered if I opened my windows and listened :)

BLIND ME- my master bedroom has some blinds in need of help. My dog Marley loves to look out the window while we’re gone during the day; however, sometimes we forget to put the blinds up and Marley never forgets that he wants to look out the window. So, we are left with some broken blinds. Some nice wooden blinds might just do the trick ;)
