Fab Freebie: Lowe-ded With Ideas

***This giveaway is no longer expecting entries – see who won below!***

Random.org once again spun its wonderful wheel of randomness and selected our two winners as… Amy @ Larryspearslive.com and Amanda Deerr. Congrats ladies!

Raise your hand if you want a $50 Lowe’s gift card. Or better yet, give me a “hootie hoo.” And if the thought of being one of two lucky winners doesn’t instantly get your brain spinning with all of the potential projects that you could tackle, Lowe’s Creative Ideas will happily fill your head with… wait for it… creative ideas. You may already know of the free Lowe’s Creative Ideas magazines (if not, you can subscribe to ’em here), but even we didn’t realize how much content they have on their website and Facebook page. And along with bigger building and DIY ideas they’ve also got decor tutorials (like stamping curtains) and crafty stuff (like making silhouette art) too.

Lowes Creative Ideas

  • PRIZE: A $50 gift card to Lowe’s courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IDEA ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us about your all-time most creative idea. Was it an awesome solution to an everyday problem? A delicious spur-of-the-moment recipe? An ingenious fix to home decor dilemma? Maybe you’ve just stumbled upon a simple household trick that makes your life easier (like letting the dog eat scraps around the highchair instead of vacuuming)?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, September 14th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perked for hosting this giveaway, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics courtesy of Lowe’s Creative Ideas.

I can’t wait to be out of an apartment and into a home, to put to use some of my non-apt ideas. Nonetheless, a gift card would be great for our apartment too!

I was JUST perusing the Lowe’s website because I have an awesome project in mind for their 2’x3′ sheet metal. I don’t want to spill all the details in case I actually do it and/or win… but it’s awesome! I can’t wait to blog about it :P

When I moved into my college dorm I put my bed on pretty hardwood loft and created a little living space underneath complete with a chaise, chandelier, side table, and hanging art. It was a creative use of space and passersby used to pop into my room just to check it out!

gosh! i think of little fixes all the time to make life easier, but none of them earth shattering. Something I just started doing that helps me get my little ones utencils with me clean is putting them in a tooth brush holder. now i dont have to wrap the ends with a napkin for travel.

While Renovating our first home, we were on a
Very tight budget and didn’t have the money to rent a dumpster
For all of that fun trash that comes with renovating. We were left with some really ugly faux pickled oak (or fau-oak as we call it) paneling stripped down from the walls in the living room.
We wanted add beadboard to the bathroom and after looking at the cost decided to nix it. One day, I had a brilliant idea. We cut down the paneling to four foot sections and primed and painted it. Nike only did we get to put up beadboard in the bathroom, we solved the problem what to do with the 8 foot sheets of paneling that the garbageman wouldn’t take. And we got to repurpose something that would have ended up in a landfill!

The greatest idea I’ve had yet is to “combine” my vegetarian lasagna with my more classic Italian Sausage lasagna. I just added chopped spinach to it and it is the most dense, fulfilling dish!

I have a bunch of things I want to write down but I guess I’ll name one. I bought 3 wooden mirror frames from IKEA, bought small square tiles from Home Depot, some sticky stuff, and went to town! Now I have 3 beautiful tiled mirrors in my foyer- everyone can see them when they come in! And I can double check my mascara before I go out :)

Wow, my most creative idea. I honestly have no idea. I suppose recently my most creative idea was to use duct tape to secure the doorknob safety cover onto my toddlers door so he would quit removing it and then escaping from his room during naps and bedtime.

The first thing I think of since fall is almost here. I took a craft store fake pumpkin, cut the whole top off, drilled some holes in the bottom, and planted some mums in it. I have used real pumpkins (small ones) filled with flowers for centerpieces at Thanksgiving before, too.

I know I have creative/simple ideas fairly often (I say, “Oo! What if we…” a lot) but I have a horrible memory and can’t think of a single example.
Which is why I love Pinterest. I may not be able to remember my own ideas, but I at least now I can keep track of the ones I want to copy from other people! :-)

Couldn’t find a hook to hang towels in my redo bathroom. Fould a clearance section with hooks and other decor. Fould a hook in the right color and shape. Next to it was a decorative item of a door knob plate with a loose glass knob. Got both, removed the glass knobe and glued the hook to the plate. Both were in the accent colors I was using. Hung and in use now and I like it. Looks like it came from Antropogy and cost less than $10.

My most recent ingenious idea is the bedroom curtains dilemma. I didn’t want to spend an arm and a leg buying curtains, especially when I wanted plain white. So I just bought $5 twin sized flat sheets and attached to curtain clips! Brilliant! I spent less on curtains than I did on the curtain rod!
