Fab Freebie: Made In Portland

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

As our time in Portland comes to an end, we’re excited to share that the random winner of this very Oregonian prize is… Joyce (who would go all the way back to the late 1700s to check out the Constitutional Convention). Congrats Joyce!

Since we’re headed to Oregon this week, we thought we’d send a little bit of Oregon your way in return. So how does $500 in product from Portland-based Rejuvenation sound? They started off as an architectural salvage shop, but now they serve up authentic lighting, hardware, and other home staples from a whole slew of time periods and styles. We’re hoping to make an in-person stop at their store while in PDX, but for everyone else there’s plenty to browse online and by catalog. And with a handful of benjamins at your disposal, this is your shot to get a real statement piece for your space.

Rejuvenation Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $500 to spend at Rejuvenation
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “REJUVENATE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could travel back in time and live in any previous era, what would you choose? Wanna live (or relive) the 60’s or 70’s love-fest? Prefer to try on the glam flapper days of the 20’s? Or do you want to go really old school and see how the colonists lived?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 22nd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States or Canada (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Rejuvenation.

    “REJUVENATE ME”

As a young girl I poured over the Tasha Tudor book, “A Time to Keep”, with its pre-electricity seasonal celebrations and sweetly detailed depictions of the daily work and play of the 19th century.

Old School, for sure. Given that our house is over a hundred years old and through remodeling, we’ve found things in the wall, we’re starting to get a good idea of how people lived back then. Toothpaste in a lead tube, anyone?

    Rejuvenate Me!

I would enjoy going back to the 1940’s prior to, during and after WWII. Why? Because although we all had hardships, women learned that they could provide for their family and that is was acceptable to be a working woman. Technology in the kitchen, household and the building of post-war communities brought a sense of family to people that may have had to start over. There was pride in being an American. There are some things that occurred during this time that I would not have agreed with such as internment of different nationalities, and religions, the cold war and the destruction of people because of their difference. I am thankful that I am living now and that we have learned from the past and our children are able to have an education that will help in ours and their future. I have two girls that are very forward thinking and love history and science. Thank you for the give away. Have a great time in Portland. I lived their 25+ years and have lived in NC since 1994. Let me say that I was in elementary school through college and beyond in Portland and it was always my home base. I hope you have lovely weather and that you get an opportunity to explore the specialness of the city that has the best neighborhoods, the surrounding communities, the mountains, rivers and along the coast. Oregon is FANTASTIC! Teresa

I absolutely love Rejuvenation and am so happy they are located here in Portland. I already have my bathroom decked out in some awesome Rejuvenation light fixtures — I’ve been wanting to update some others in my house as well, and $500 would do the trick! I love the architectural details of the 20s, but the furniture of the 50s and 60s, so my place is a bit of a mish-mash!

I don’t really want to live in any other era (I’m too fond of hot water, antibiotics, and the internet), but I’d love to visit France in the mid-1700s!

PS: Have fun in Oregon! It’s the most beautiful place on earth– although I might be biased since that’s where I was born and raised. ;) Don’t forget to swing by Voodoo Donuts for a miraculous bite to eat!
