Fab Freebie: Made In Portland

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

As our time in Portland comes to an end, we’re excited to share that the random winner of this very Oregonian prize is… Joyce (who would go all the way back to the late 1700s to check out the Constitutional Convention). Congrats Joyce!

Since we’re headed to Oregon this week, we thought we’d send a little bit of Oregon your way in return. So how does $500 in product from Portland-based Rejuvenation sound? They started off as an architectural salvage shop, but now they serve up authentic lighting, hardware, and other home staples from a whole slew of time periods and styles. We’re hoping to make an in-person stop at their store while in PDX, but for everyone else there’s plenty to browse online and by catalog. And with a handful of benjamins at your disposal, this is your shot to get a real statement piece for your space.

Rejuvenation Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $500 to spend at Rejuvenation
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “REJUVENATE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could travel back in time and live in any previous era, what would you choose? Wanna live (or relive) the 60’s or 70’s love-fest? Prefer to try on the glam flapper days of the 20’s? Or do you want to go really old school and see how the colonists lived?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 22nd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States or Canada (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Rejuvenation.

    REJUVENATE ME!

I’d like to hop in the way-back-machine and experience pre-European North America, I have my suspiscions that the Native Americans had a much more sophisticated culture than our written history gives them credit for.

I think I’d go back to the 18th century. I’m a sucker for Jane Austen books and would love to see how people lived then firsthand.

My home is saying, “REJUVENATE ME” . This first home is of a bit ambiguous style; 1932, stucco, beams, pointed archways…yet not really fully Spanish like many in our historic neighborhood. Trying to find out about its history, as like so many homes of its age, the kitchen was sadly gutted at one point. As a cook from scratch like great-grandmother did, I find mature kitchens quite accomodating!

I think I’d go back to the 50’s. Have always been drawn to the style of that decade, but mostly because my parents just seem to have a really fond nostalgia of that time.

    Rejuvenate me!

I’m not sure I’d want to go back, as a black person I don’t think I’d have too much fun in most periods of American history (just saying…I always find that question weird for that reason). Maybe I could just go back to high school, I’m sure there are a few “mistakes” I could rectify there.

I don’t know. I kind of like the era that we’re living in now. People are starting to enjoy smaller spaces that pack more bang for their buck while trying to lessen their environmental impact. I really dig that.

Is this to live… permanently? I’m tempted to say the 60s, to see my parents as kids, but I’m not interested in a Marty McFly fading picture situation. So maybe the early 90s? I think the mere existence of the Beanie Babies craze is evidence that the economy was not too shabby.

REJUVENATE ME – The Gatsby 20s have always been my fav! Of course I would have only wanted that era if I were a thriving millionaire with a mansion to throw all the sparkling gallas (which I should clarify I’ve never been anywhere near that!) and I probably would not have thrived as well as my ancestors in the depression years… But its great to dream!
