When I came to Kentucky for college, it was pretty amusing to learn that the KY town Versailles is pronounced not like the elegant palace in France but instead is pronounced Ver-sales. So very…southern. I can’t judge though, since I’m from South Carolina.

Oh Pennsylvania– how strange your town names can be. Such as Blue Ball, PA- which is located between Virginville, PA and Intercourse, PA. Also, Jersey Shore, PA (which is neither in Jersey or near any body of water).
I think my personal favorite is Rough and Ready, PA (about 45 miles north of Harrisburg).
