Fab Freebie: Maine Attractions

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

It’s a shame we can’t take any major road trips right now (thanks to our wee one) since this week’s giveaway has us itching to head north to Kennebunkport, Maine. That’s because Spaces Kennebunkport– the shop behind today’s prize- embodies just the type of comfortable seaside home accents that Sherry and I love. Never mind that we can barely spell the name… we still want to eat up everything in their store. Have no fear if you also can’t make it out to K-town. Spaces Kennebunkport has an awesome online shop and one of you is gonna win a $150 gift certificate to spend there. Score.

Kenne Four Grid

And not that we’re in the business of telling people how to spend their prize money, but here are some things we would totally snag for ourselves:

Kenne Our Picks

Wanna take home some of this beachy bliss? Here’s how to enter this week’s Fab Freebie (oh, and stay tuned for a discount code this Thursday):

  • PRIZE: $150 toward anything in Spaces Kennebunkport’s shop
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MAINE ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since our giveaway sponsors reside in a fairly uniquely-named town, we’d love to know of any unique / weird / funny city names that you live in, have visited, or have noticed on a map (i.e. Love, VA; Bummerville, CA; Sweet Lips, TN)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 2nd at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the USA
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

Find more freebie info on our Giveaway FAQs page. Pics courtesy of Spaces Kennebunkport.

On my way to college I would always pass Shartlesville, Pa. I always got a laugh out of it.

This isn’t a city, but there’s a road down in San Diego called Las Pulgas. Translation: The Fleas. I know, random.

Maine Me! I grew up in “Summer Shade,” KY and lived on Goodluck Rd! Also in the same county are towns called “Chicken Bristle” and “Subtle” (the B is not silent)! So funny.

There is a town here in California not too far from where I live called Los Banos. Which with my limited Spanish speaking abilities translates to “the bathrooms” I think.

    MAINE ME! (Please?)

Hubby grew up in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. But everyone there just calls it “T or C” said more like, “Tee-er-see” when you say it fast! LOL. It’s one of the silliest (and coolest) sounding town names I know of! There’s a great story behind the name too! (Named after a game-show that came to town! LOL.)

Thanks for the chance to win! Love your blog! One of my faves. :-)

I grew up in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania. I didn’t think it was so strange until I moved to Michigan and people would laugh when I told them.
The area of PA I grew up in is full of fun names…Blue Ball, Paradise, Intercourse, Bird in Hand… I think I prefer Birdsboro. :)

I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska and the state is full of little towns with funny names…including “Chicken, AK,” so named because they (as the story goes) couldn’t spell the state bird’s name: ptarmigan.

    MAINE ME!!

I don’t know that the names are all that unusual, but people frequently mispronounce towns around me:
    There’s:

Reading (pronounced ‘redding’, not ‘reading’ as in “I’m reading a book)

    Ephrata (ef-er-ta, NOT U-frat-a)

Lancaster (not LAN’-caster, but more like lank-ister)
