We’ve always loved snagging cheap finds for our house at both stores – like the nailhead trimmed ottoman in our bedroom (from T.J. Maxx) and just about every pillow in our den (from Marshalls).

Since my mother-in-law goes a bit overboard with the Christmas decorations (read: 20 different plastic containers), I made the proclamation early in our marriage that I did not want (her to give me)Christmas decorations. I’m most excited about a trip to NYC that my husband planned as a surprise. He got me tickets to see Wicked on Broadway as a birthday present, and we’re making the trip our big Xmas present to each other. I can’t wait to see the tree in Rockefeller Center, visit some old friends, and just have fun making memories instead of buying gifts.
