Maxx and Marshalls, here to help us kick off the whole holiday shopping scene by handing over two $50 gift cards that can be spent on gifts, festive seasonal decor, or whatever else tickles your fancy.
We’ve always loved snagging cheap finds for our house at both stores – like the nailhead trimmed ottoman in our bedroom (from T.J. Maxx) and just about every pillow in our den (from Marshalls).

I’m having a hard time thinking of things for myself for Christmas. I just got married last month and the hubby and I have been so blessed to receive more gifts than I can even believe! But it would be nice to polish off the house with some pretty decor.
And anyway, I love giving gifts way more than receiving! I’m mostly looking forward to giving my little two year old nephew and one year old niece their gifts. Nothing like seeing a child’s face light up around this time of year!

This was the first year I did an actual holiday gift list for myself, but I am crossing my fingers that it means I will get less random knick-knack type items that are not my taste and end up stashed in a closet. Crossing my fingers for an Eye-fi memory card! The thing I am most excited to be giving is a Wedgepad for my dad for his iPad. He is disabled, and his iPad is the only way he has ever been able to manipulate any sort of computer to get on the internet.
