We’ve always loved snagging cheap finds for our house at both stores – like the nailhead trimmed ottoman in our bedroom (from T.J. Maxx) and just about every pillow in our den (from Marshalls).

This is the first year I can honestly say, nothing is on the top of the list. Nothing. And, my teens say, “I really don’t want anything”. Hard to believe. I really feel that we all just want to spend time together and enjoy the holiday. We don’t want to get caught up in the buying and giving. None of us do without and get what is NEEDED throughout the year. Life is good!

As far as what I am giving, I pick a theme each year for my girlfriends. This year I am giving them each a small ceramic box with their initial and necklace inside. Each necklace fits their personality.
I am excited to see what my best friend bought me. I sent her some art prints I like from Etsy and told her to pick the one that she likes the best.

MAXX ME! We are most excited about giving our 21-month-old a fun and meaningul Christmas experience. We are simple folk and not too big on LOADS of presents. One or two simple and meaningul gifts is plenty, used items are even better! Plus our son has two sets of grandparents who love to spoil him rotten. We are looking forward to picking out the perfect Little Tyke basketball hoop and perhaps a Radio Flyer tricycle. For each other, we each got to pick out an item we NEED. The hubs gets a new pair of work shoes and well I don’t NEED anything so I didn’t put in a request. I could always use more home remodeling materials.

I am really excited about our gift for my parents. We bought them a shiny new microwave. They have had their current one forever, and the display is shot, but they continue to use it, so you just kind of have to guess how long there is left on the timer.
