Scoutmob is a lot of things (flash deals, events calendar, online flea market…) but through it all there’s a charming emphasis on local. This week they’re inviting two of you to spend $200 in their Shoppe, a curated collection of independent artisans and makers who often weave hometown pride into their work. There’s tons of cheery, clever, and skillful stuff to discover, and you can browse by category or even by city. You know, if you wanna see just what your neighbors are making these days.

My husband and I visited the Pasadena Flea Market on Sunday and it was amazing! We picked up some old books, found an old keychain from a radio station in our hometown (107.7 The End in Seattle!) and my favorite purchase – old gas station numbers in our wedding date to make some sentimental art :)

MOB ME! My latest lovely local purchase was an order of pear-and-pecorino ravioli in a butter thyme sauce at my neighborhood Italian restaurant. It’s their seasonal ravioli, so they only plan to have it two more weeks. I need to make plans to go back for more!

Wow, I didn’t know Scoutmob has a shop. Very cool concept and would love to win the gift card to test it out. I finally tried out the raved terriyaki chicken at a local mom and pop restaurant, and LOVED it. I had to catch myself from licking the plate clean afterwards. It was THAT good.
