Fab Freebie: Moore Candice To Love

*** This contest is now closed – see who won below!***

And this week’s random winner is… Stacy (who says “when I was little, I got the local radio dj’s autograph and thought I was so cool! Looking back, it is just funny how silly it was!”). Congrats Stacy!

We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms. So once you’ve torn yourself away from petting her signature (not that we’d do that, ok we totally would) and are ready to put that Olson-spiration to use, Benjamin Moore’s gonna lend a hand with two gallons of their Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, a $50 gift card, and your very own Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck. And if that’s not enough of a Candice fix for ya, you can enter to win a personal design consultation from her over on Benjamin Moore’s site.

Benjamin Moore Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: Two gallons of Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, $50 gift card, a Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck and signed copy of Candice Olson Bedrooms courtesy of Benjamin Moore.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MOORE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what other autograph have you snagged? Did you get your favorite band to sign an album cover? Or receive a signed letter from a big name public figure? Maybe you got a big novelty check signed by Ed McMahon? Or just a sweet crayon-drawing signed by a niece or nephew?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada (we couldn’t leave out Candice’s homeland!)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Benjamin Moore.

    Moore Me!

I have a few autographs I’m proud of – I have signed tee shirts from the bands Everclear and Blink 182 circa 1996, and I recently received Jenny Lawson’s (theBloggess) book from pre-order with a signed jacket, but I didn’t get the chance to meet her in person.

Speaking of signed book jackets – have you guys considered doing anything like that for your book when it hits the shelves? Any talk of book tours? Hope so!!

The one any only autography I’ve ever gotten is when I was about 8 years old, from a Houston Oilers football player. I wasn’t into football, but my friends parents took us. I don’t remember which player it was and I lost the autograph along time ago. Who know, he was probably one of the greats!

For our first wedding anniversary, I was able to get an autographed picture of Carrol Shelby (as in Shelby Mustangs) for my car loving husband! He was ecstatic! Sadly, just a few DAYS after getting the autograph, Mr. Shelby passed away. My husband loves knowing he has one of the last autographes he ever signed.

My husband also scored me an autographed copy of Weeknights with Giada by Giada de Laurentiis!

Moore Me! I have a signed first edition copy of Anne McCaffrey’s book “All the Weyrs of Pern”. Yes, I’m a nerd and proud of it. It was awesome to meet her for all of twenty seconds. She was very polite, too, signing for far longer than the advertised two hours.

And we’re building a new house, and I’m loving all the inspiration I’m getting from your webside.

Not really a ‘star struck’ kind of person, so an autograph from someone famous or well known, while neat to have, never really meant to much to me to ever attempt to get. Now if it is on a piece of art or something that person owned or physically made…that would be a different story…

I got some autographs from some football players when I was in a gymnastics team during high school. We did a halftime for a charity basketball game and the football players were playing the basketball. Or I think they were all football players – maybe some were basketball players. Guess I’m not that observant. Or high school was ages ago, which would make me old. Must be that I’m not observant. ;P Luther Ellis is the only player I can remember by name. =O

I don’t have anything signed. I did learn this summer that my older brother is a big fan of signed merchandise – his family’s rec room is adorned with signed jersey’s, footballs, baseballs, golf balls, etc. His wife said that those are the only things he ever asks for as gifts so that’s what she gets him! It had been awhile since I visited so I didn’t know this about him. Funny.
