Random.org had a tough job of sifting through nearly 7,000 jewelry hungry ladies (and gentlemen!) but has selected two random winners as… Lisa S. (who, like many, always wears her wedding ring but never gets sick of it because her husband did a great job) and SJ (who also wears her wedding and engagement rings out everyday). Congrats!
Sherry here. I don’t usually write the giveaway posts, but we’re making an exception since I was the one who twisted John’s arm into this week’s giveaway. Instead of our usual DIY & decor-related prizes, this week we’re giving away some body decor that was DIYed (well, created) by two talented jewelry designers. Yup, we have two hundred dollars worth of sparkly, sparkly jewelry for ya (or for your mom/wife/sis/girlfriend/grandma if you’re a dude).
The bling comes from two designers that I couldn’t love more (nope, I didn’t get any swag to say that – I truly love their stuff). The first is Erin McDermott, a Charlotte-based designer who studied at both my and John’s alma maters (FIT in NYC and UVA here in Virginia) and has been featured in Real Simple. Here are some of my favorites things of hers:
And then there’s Towne & Reese, whose studio we crashed earlier this year. Not only do I love their stuff, but I love that they name their pieces after their friends’ children (Towne and Reese are the founders’ daughters’ names). And get this, Clara will actually have a piece named after her in their Spring collection. Do you know how excited that makes this geeky momma? Probably too excited. You bet I’m staking out their Facebook page for a sneak peek. Anyway here are some of my favorite things from their current collection:

I wear my engagement ring on one hand and my promise ring on the other. Both very meaningful. I also have two other pieces that I love but can’t find enough fingers (Don’t like the look of a bunch of rings on one hand). My mom’s wedding band – they since divorced and my father passed away and a ring my Grandma had custom made for me for my 16th birthday featuring my birthstone (opal) and it is made with the gold from her wedding bands to my grandpa (who has also passed away) so sweet and meaningful.

I wear an heirloom ring everyday. My Grandma got it from her mom when she turned 16, my mom got it when she graduated high school, and I got it when I graduated college. It means a lot to our family!

I do waer my very special wedding ring every day! I sleep in it every night and have never take it off other than when my sweet husband forced me to do have it ” cleaned”. He was addind more sparkle to it!! But I also wear my Maw-Maw’s origianl wedding ring on my other hand. She gave it to me for my 19th Birthday and my sweet husband had it redone just weeks before she passed away. It means more than the world to me and although I know that she is with me daily I really feel her there with me! The ring was worn out and even worn thing on the back of the band but our wonderful jewler make it whole again and made it something I can not take off!!!

I would have to say one of my many watches, although it should be my wedding ring; however, I inherited my grandmother’s wedding ring and the bands are so thin I am always afraid I will break it. That’s why it isn’t always worn.

I always wear my wedding/engagement rings. The diamond is the stone my grandfather proposed to my grandmother with (it was one he already owned) and my father had it reset when he proposed to my mom. I also wear my great grandmother’s wedding band with the set.

I wear a ring with an awareness ribbon hand stamped on it in support of my dad who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this summer. It was from Amy Cornwell Designs, love her blog!
