Fab Freebie: Sharing The Love

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below! ***

Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!

As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!

Joss Main Giveaway

  • PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! We just bought a new house and it needs some Joss & Main love! I am a secret-forgetter, in that I spill secrets because I FORGET that things are secret. My friends and family keep me in the dark about surprises until the last possible moment.

My hubs and I had been dating 6 months when he had shoulder surgery. I arrived to caregive and change bandages, when he felt nauseous and faint. As I braced for the worst (bucket in hand, ready to catch), I suddenly felt dizzy and fainted, fell on his surgery shoulder, crashed to the floor, slammed my head in the wall – to awaken to him, the patient, slapping my face and placing a pillow under my head!

I have never had my own room. I’m one of eight kids, so I always shared a room growing up. Then I went away to college and had to share with roommates. And now I’m married and have to share a room with my husband.

Share me!! My family and I have been sharing a house with my parents and sister and brother while we looked for jobs and got back on our feet. We are incredibly thankful for my family’s generosity but oh so excited to be 1 1/2 months away from our newly constructed house being finished. God is good and we are so grateful!

My husband and I have been married for almost two years and have lived together for seven. We lived in five different apartments in those seven years and have always had to share a teeny tiny bathroom. For a lot of couples that might be impossible to do, but we always made it work!

About 3 weeks ago a deer jumped through my TV room window and proceeded to run and bleed around our entire downstairs floor. We live in the middle of a large residential area so the chances of something like this happening are about as nil as winning the lottery! Thankfully our insurance company was good to us and awarded us a very generous payout, my husband and I are just incredibly thankful that we weren’t home (I was home all day and gone for that one hour it decided to come crashing in) and the dog was kenneled. Could have been so much worse than it was!

My husband and I used to share a twin bed. In an un-air-conditioned trailer. Talk about a relationship building exercise. I’m happy to report we now have a king bed in our (air-conditioned!) house … and appreciate it all the more because of our tiny beginnings.

A double date with good friends went so late in the evening that we decided to spend the night instead of driving 45 min home. My husband and I had to share a toothbrush. It kinda made me gag even though we kiss. Just a story we’ll always remember. :)

Back before I was married I went to Vegas with a group of friends (both male and female). I had a crush on one of the guys that went. The first day we were there we went to the pool. While playing a pool game I went under water. When I came back up my swiming suit top had twisted to the side and my left boob was just hanging out starring at my crush. So much for keeping anything to the imagination… :)

SHARE ME!!! My most recent sharing story is about the office that I share. Me and a female coworker that I didn’t know very well received promotions and were moved into a shared offices after I previously had one to myself. It has been one of the best experiences – I forgot what it was like to have female roomies because I now live with my boyfriend. It’s always nice to have someone to survive the work day with!

Growing up, I had to share a bathroom with my sister. It’s not heart warming, but she always left the cap of the tooth paste and it drove me crazy! My husband and I have one of those as-seen-on-tv Touch-N-Brushs in our bathroom so that I don’t have to worry about the tooth brush cap! It actually works really well and now he doesn’t yell at me for squeezing from the middle instead of the bottom :-D.

PS- This is an amazing giveaway! Thanks for finding such nice things to give us!

I’m a chronic over-sharer, so is my mother, and I’m learning my daughter is as well. If you want something to be a secret, you probably shouldn’t tell me. I’m always putting my foot in my mouth. (Sorry about this one John) when I first met Aunt Flo, my mother decided to share it with a bunch of her clients and coworkers. I was mortified.

When I was about 18, I shared my butt with the entire population of target on accident. In those days, I still believed in the necessity of pantyhose. And after a brief visit to the ladies room, I walked out–unknowingly with my skirt tucked, you guessed it, in those pantyhose.

I walked around the whole store before a kind employee graciously informed me what had happened, indicated she had seen me walk past more than once, and finally straightened my dress over my backside.

Ah. Unintentional sharing is sharing at its best.

SHARE ME! My brother and I used to share one of those buggy’s attached to the back of my dad’s bike when we were little. My bro would always fall asleep on the ride and try to rest his head on my shoulder… which you’d think would be really cute except that he was wearing a helmet and the route was really bumpy therefore leading to me having a bruised shoulder!
