As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!

Share me! We are a family of 4 in a 2 bedroom condo with one bathroom! So it’s quite normal for my 5 year old son to run into the bathroom and utter the words, “Mom/Dad spread your legs, I HAVE TO PEE!”

My husband & I attended a Bible study on Marriage at our church, and the leader passed out pens for us to take notes with. During the DVD session, the cap of my pen fell down the front of my dress. At the end of the session, my husband was giving back our pens and I thought the leader was asking where my cap was. The leader is a woman who I know well, so I explained what happened (while there were still others in the room). I later found out that she wasn’t asking for my pen cap, but wanted to know if we could lead an upcoming session for her. Oops! Thankfully, no one seemed to care about my little outburst, but I now know not to offer information unless someone asks for it from me directly! :)

SHARE ME! How’s about an April Fool’s story? Yesterday my best friend posted a picture of a positive pregnancy test on Facebook.. Shocked, I immediately called her to find out why FB was telling me instead of her. She didn’t answer the phone. She texted me about an hour later asking if I was mad that FB told me & I said no, I’m sad that you’re pregnant and I’m not- We’ve been trying! In the end, we both ended up in tears.. Her that I was TTC and me that she’s not actually pregnant 9 months before her wedding! Yesterday was a doozie!!

Share me! It was pretty harrowing to find out last week that my niece smelled the batter in the kitchen aid mixer while it was still on. Her long hair got pulled in and it only took seventeen stitches to fix her up. Yikes!

I think I have my fair share of awkward roommate “sharing” experiences. My favorite was when my brand new roommmate whom I had never met came to the bathroom as we were both getting ready wearing my BRAND NEW sweater (that had tags on it which she had ripped off!) I asked why she was wearing my sweater, and she said “oh I thought you wouldn’t mind!” That started our relationship on a VERY weird note.

During my first homecoming dance as a freshman in high school, a classmate thought it would be funny to PRETEND to “pants” me (where someone runs up behind you and pulls your pants down and then promptly runs away) – but in the heat of the moment, my loose-fitting elastic waisted pants FELL TO MY ANKLES in the blink of an eye. I’m not sure who was more surprised, but I think I took the prize for most mortified.

SHARE ME! My sister and I are 17 months apart and shared a bedroom growing up. We were pretty resentful about that and therefore were pretty possessive of things that were definitely “ours” and as a result, I was not allowed to sign along with any music coming out of “my sister’s” radio!

Share me! My brother and I didn’t share a car, but we did know where each other’s spare keys were. One day I went to leave for work and my car was gone. So I took his. On the way to work, I drove by him, in my car, pulled over by a cop, after he had rear ended the person in front of him. We laugh about it now!

Share me! My family moved into a new house my freshman year of high school and all 5 of us kids shared a bathroom. Looking back now, I’m not sure how that worked but it did because we didn’t have a choice while mom and dad finished the basement on their own time. To this day, if you visit my parents’ house and stop by the 2nd floor full bath, you can see the personalized towel hooks that they installed on the back of the built in linen closet door.

Share me! We recently downsized to an apartment and now my kind in-laws are sharing the use of their washer and dryer with us until our tax refund kicks in and we can buy our own. I’m so thankful that my mother in law doesn’t mind sharing (or, um, straight up giving) us gallons of her laundry detergent week by week, I think we’ve mastered the delicate maneuvering of our loads in private so no one’s unmentionables are left lying around for the other one to find. :)

Hmm. An interesting sharing story? When I was in the first grade, i shared a tooth loss experience with my neighbor. he tried to pull it out and it wasn’t working, so he asked me punch him in the mouth. Being the obedient six year old I was, I did so.
His tooth came out and I didn’t get in trouble because the teacher was laughing too hard.

Share me! My college roommate and I had very different ideas on sharing space – her lotions, food, dishes, books etc. were ALL OVER our room, including on “my” shelves! It took me a while to get used to her lifestyle, and I may have even bought some Rubbermaid containers to help her consolidate. It worked out for the year and we’re still friends, but not the kind of friends who can live together. :)
