As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? Share me! I’m typically an oversharer, so it’s hard to overshare with me. And then I had to share a hotel room with my boss. She acts conservative, but our roles reversed when that door closed. I reigned in my typical here-I-am-what’s-up-ness out of respect for her, but she forgot the dual purpose towels play to both dry & then cover. And then she decided to iron her clothes before putting them on. Wowza.

Share me…I used to share a bathroom with my sister ( we also often had spiders in this bathroom). I would catch them under a Dixie cup so when my sis cleaned up After me she got a nice suprise;). P.s. We get along better now!

I was an only child but my mother was a kindergarten teacher. When I’d have friends over, she would set the timer so my guest could play with the toy for so many minutes and then I could play with it for the exact same amount of time. This used to drive me nuts because none of my friend’s parents were that fair!!! I suppose it was good for me though :)

Share me! I shared my bedroom (first with my older sister until I was 7 and then with my younger sister-who is 7 yrs younger then me-until I was 16) and even though I probably complained about it at the time, I think it is one of the reasons I am so close with my sisters. Any parent who thinks all kids NEED their own bedrooms is wrong. Sharing with my sisters was one of the best things my parents could have done for me. I am still best friends with both of them, even with the age difference.

Share me! And here’s the story:
I’m an only child, and my husband finds it hilarious when that rears its ugly head. We were walking along a fountain in Boston, and I was walking on the wide (clearly wide enough for two people), elevated fountain border, holding hands with my hubby (then boyfriend), who walked on the regular sidewalk below. He went to hop up onto the border and join me, when I stiff-armed him and proclaimed, “Only I get to!” Even though there was plenty of room. It was like I was a bratty 5 year old; it was this crazy, knee-jerk reaction. I am so lucky he still wanted to date me, let alone marry me. He hasn’t let me forget it, though. Too too funny. I guess I need sharing lessons?

When I was 7 months pregnant with my first baby, my husband and I decided to take a “babymoon” with another couple to Costa Rica. They are close friends (she was also preggo but only about 4 months along) so at one of the places we stayed, we shared a room–2 beds, of course! I was in the totally uncomfortable sleeping stage at that point and was especially missing my familiar team of pillows. To make matters worse, my friend’s husband snores so loudly! Knowing this, she brought ear plugs, but my husband and I were left lying in bed awake most of the night. I can give my husband a kick to stop his snoring, but you can’t really do that to someone else’s husband.

SHARE ME! I am currently sharing a very small one bedroom apartment with my boyfriend and our two cats, which is challenging enough as is. But every time I plop down on the couch our two cats gravitate towards me and both sit on me at the same time, even though there’s plenty of other couch, chair, cat tree space to enjoy! Don’t get me wrong, I love it! Definitely got me to learn to share the couch, or my lap! :)

SHARE ME! Once, I ran into my college philosophy professor in the locker room at the YMCA. Apparently, she was a lot more liberal with her body than I was because she recognized me and proceeded to have an entire conversation with me completely in the nude! SO WEIRD!

Growing up, we had five people(six at one point) sharing one bathroom. It was very common to be taking a shower and hear the bathroom door open. It was very hard to have privacy when that was the only bathroom.

My favorite sharing as an adult was with my last roommate before I got married. We were the same size in clothes and shoes. She had a bike, I had a car. We both loved to cook and did so together (and for each other) often. Our cats even shared a litter box. I loved that experience of sharing with someone so freely and easily! My husband and I share just as easily, but it’s just not quite the same as swapping clothes and recipes with my fantastic roommate and girfriend… ;)

SHARE ME! I used to share a room and bed with my big sis growing up, at least til I was 10 and my parents added onto the house. One night my sister started singing to annoy me like she so often did. Well, she sang so loudly she attracted the notice of my Dad, but she didn’t hear him enter the room. My Dad kindly let her finish the entire song she was singing (while I giggled in silence) before he told her it was beautiful, but way too late to be singing.

I have two older brothers, and counting my parents that meant there were 5 people total sharing 1 bathroom. My father had a habit of being a little selfish when it came to time on the toilet, so my brothers would sabotage this by kindly kicking the door in karate-style while he was in there. When we were growing up (1985-1990ish), we lived in Nashville and my grandparents lived in Charleston, SC, so twice a year all 5 of us loaded up in the Toyota sedan for the 10 hours trip (not including breaks). So of course, I was the youngest and the only girl, so I had to sit in the middle. I did NOT want to share any of my 6 inches of space. So my parents heard “his knee is on my side! his finger is on my line! he’s looking at me! he reached across me!” for 10 hours down and 10 hours back. Not sure how heartwarming that is…

Thanks for sharing your profits, how cool. :) I have 8 siblings so I NEVER got a whole can of pop to myself unless it was a really special occasion! We’d sit in the back of our suburban, two to a can, passing it back and forth. We’d always hover with eagle eyes on the other, screeching “she’s drinking it all!” or “he’s taking too long!!” Ahhh…good memories. I make my girls share now just cuz it builds character. ;) Plus, it’s still kind of a treat to have a “whole” can to myself!!

My two brothers and I used to share a backseat of my moms van on our yearly trips to Canada growing up, to visit my moms side of the family. I remember messing with my brothers while they slept just to be a brat. They would definitely get me back in the end though by ganging up on me. Good times!

She gre up with an identical twin on a Midwest farm and shared everything – including a hairbrush -with her sister, up until a year after they graduated college when she married my father.
