Good news – the prize pot is now up to over $500! Even better news (at least for one lucky person) random.org has selected our winner as… Karina (who notes that both teaching and learning to share is hard, just ask her kiddos). Congrats Karina!
As we mentioned last week along with our curator collection, Joss & Main offers small referral fees in the form of store credit to anyone who refers someone who makes a purchase, but we wanted to pay those forward. So instead of accepting the referral fees, we saved all of those credits up in a separate “gift account” so we could dish ‘em out in a big fat giveaway for one lucky reader this week. Oh and Joss & Main kindly donated $100 to get things rolling (and to ensure that we didn’t have nada to give away if no one signed up, haha). But guess what? It earned over $300 worth of referral credits! So if you add in the $100 from Joss & Main, the prize pot is up to over $400 for one lucky winner to spend on whatever they’d like!
- PRIZE: Ownership of the special Joss & Main referral account that we’ve set up, which has an account credit of $430!
- TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “SHARE ME” and tell us…
- BONUS QUESTION: … a funny / touching / harrowing sharing story. Maybe about the time you had to share a hotel room with your boss on a business trip? Or the challenges of teaching your kids to share? Or a memory of when you and your siblings shared a bathroom / car / wardrobe growing up?
- GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 4th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
- NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
- PRIZE SHIPS: The lower 48 United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
- USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…
Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Joss & Main.

SHARE ME! I vividly remember sitting on my great grandma’s front porch as a kid, sharing graham crackers with my dog Jake. Jake was not very good at sharing and I would always end up running back into the house crying because he took my cracker. Luckily my Mom was always ready with another graham cracker.

No harrowing tales of sharing come to mind, but I’ll soon be moving in with my boyfriend so I’m sure there is much more “sharing” in my near future…

When we go out to eat, my husband and I will usually order an appetizer and one entree to come as our meals and share them. The portion ends up perfect and we get to have more choices that way!

Share Me! My craziest sharing experience was traveling with several friends, and sharing a room with another single female friend while our married friends had the room next door. My friend snored so badly the first night that I ended up sleeping in our other friends’ room (their room had two queen beds) the rest of the trip!

SHARE ME….sharing my “quaint” condo with my adult son while we get back on our feet has been an amazing experience. We have adult discussions and tell each other about new movies, books etc but I am excited for the next stage (separate homes)!!!!!

On a study abroad trip to London, sharing a bathroom with my hall actually helped us all meet each other. When you share a bathroom in a strange country…you are much more open to simply saying “Hi, what’s your name?” :)

Share me! Once I went to the Dunkin’ Donuts in Jerusalem and ordered a coffee. There were diner-size stools and many patrons sat there and drank out of their styrofoam cups. I sat there and as I was sipping, a young army member in plain clothes sat next to me. Suddenly I had a lot less elbow space. I looked down and realized I was sharing it with their M16.

I work in a pediatric hospital and this morning we had an arts and crafts session. An adorable three year old girl was being a bit selfish about sharing her crayons, until the four year old little boy next to her turned and said “We’re supposed to share. It’s nice to share. It makes us friends.”
Love it.

We recently spent the weekend with my fiances parents in Texarkana, with adjoining hotel rooms. I’ve learned that a hotel room, alcohol, and the in-laws can bring up too many uncomfortable conversations about parts of their lives you did not want to know about.

I shared a room with my sister since she was born (we’re 16 months apart), and when I went away to undergraduate school and had my own room, I had to go to sleep with the tv on b/c i was used to noise/activity. I still go and stay in my old bedroom with her sometimes when my husband goes out of town.

Share me! When we were kids — and I am talking until our early teens — my parents made me and my two sisters use the same bath water. Gross!!! I guess we can thank god they didn’t make us actually bathe together. Tee-hee!

Hmmm… so many stories. I shared a bedroom with my sister off and on as a child. It was great because I was afraid of the dark and having her across the room made me sleep a little bit easier.

I have an only child. He’s always asking for a brother or sister, and is very excited about the idea until I tell him he’ll have to share – his toys, room, and mom. He’s not so excited after that!

When I went to Air Force Basic Training I knew I would have to share a bathroom, growing up with 3 sisters I wasn’t really worried about it. But then I realized I was sharing the bathroom with about 30 other girls! It was pretty crazy in the mornig trying to get in there to brush your teeth, comb your hair and get out to formation in time. Don’t even ask me about showering!

I had moved out of my parents’ house, so they gave my brother my old room. When I moved back in with them, I had to share a room with my little sister. She hated it, but she dealt with it. Now I make sure to spoil the crud out of her every time we hang out, because it meant a great deal to me that she was okay with me encroaching on her personal space for about a year, when I shouldn’t have had to. :)

Growing up, when my family went out to eat, we would always taste and share each others dishes. So that’s what I always did with my husband after we started dating – except he didn’t believe in sharing so I would end up eating some of both dishes and he would never even try one bite of mine!

SHARE ME! There is one infamous pizza outing at our local Pizza Hut that has gone down in history. There was only one piece of pizza left and I wanted it. My mom went to grab something else (aka- not the last slice of pizza) and, without even thinking and with no control over my body, I grabbed a fork and stabbed the pizza narrowly missing my mom’s hand! Needless to say, we laughed and laughed and laughed at my craziness!

My husband and I like to ride motorcycles on the racetrack. Last year when my hubby’s shock started leaking I decided I would share my bike with him so that he could ride, too. What happened you ask? He crashed it during the first session out on the track! Since the crash my bike now has new bodywork that has been painted hot pink, and he is no longer allowed to ride it (he walked away without a scratch). I’ll share almost anything with my husband, but will never again share my bike!

Share me! Oh I have a few funny stories but here’s one: in high school I had a date with a college guy we went on a date when he was home at Christmas. While we where in the movies my friends came and left notes on his car. It had also snowed during the movie so they wrote silly things like kiss me and how hot the guy was. When we came out we laughed and wondered who did it they followed us too when he dropped me off they came into my house I was so embarrassed then I got in there car I was so upset so they thought it would be fun y to go to his house to apologize needless to say we never went out again and this is just one funny moment I remember from my high school years. I hope we get to hear a few stories from you!

Share me! It was the night before my graduation from college so everyone’s parents were in town. My new boyfriend called to say that he and his parents were at the bar and we should come down so that everyone could meet for the first time. When we got there, they were just finishing up a round of beer, but there was still some left in the pitcher. They offered it to us, and–to my shock and horror–my mom took it and drank the rest down, straight from the pitcher! This was SO not like her, and nearly 10 years later it still makes me laugh to think about it.
