Fab Freebie: Supper Management

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

If you’re a busy mom like me – wait, let me start over. If you’re like me and hate grocery shopping, then this week’s giveaway is totally up your aisle. I’ve learned to enjoy cooking, but the chore of making a list, bleeding money at the grocery store and then coming home to find you’ve forgotten the cardamom still drives us to take-out more than we’d like. So imagine my delight when You’ve Got Supper entered our lives.

YouveGotSupper List

YGS was started by two busy moms right here in Richmond (holla) and basically does your weekly recipe planning AND grocery list making for you (double holla). Just sign up for their free weekly email for five easy recipe suggestions. Pick the ones you want to make (or add others from their archive) and YGS automatically generates a complete, printable shopping list for you. Basically, my lifesaver. And this week they’re giving away $100 in groceries to one of our lucky readers who just might need some lifesaving in the kitchen too.

We’ve been using them for a while now, and just last week we made three of their meals that we never tried before: Honey Chicken Kebabs, One-Pot Pork Tenderloin and Crispy Potatoes and Creamy Dreamy Mac and Cheese. Here’s that mac and cheese making Burger wish he were human:

YouveGotSupper Burger

And now for this week’s giveaway deets:

  • PRIZE: $100 gift card to the grocery store of your choice courtesy of You’ve Got Supper
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I WANT SUPPER” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us your favorite way to mix things up for dinner. Is it the classic breakfast for dinner? Or maybe a recipe swap with the neighbors. Or, our favorite, going over someone else’s house so they do the cooking.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, November 4th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Anywhere in the whole wide world!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    I want supper!

I love cooking a big meal and having leftovers. Such as a turkey dinner, then making turkey burgers the next day (yum yum!)

I want supper… by choosing a theme night and then having one friend do the appetizer, one do side dish, one do entree and one do dessert. It is interesting to see everyone’s interpretation of a cuisine.

I mix things up by having “appetizer” night once a month. I will make loaded potato skins, cheese sticks, mini pizzas, etc. Maybe not the most healthy, but it sure is fun!!!

I want dinner (I’m from Michigan, we don’t call it ‘supper’)!!! I actually just got back from grocery shopping and spent $68 at Meijers on pretty much nothing, but at least I saved $24.65!!

I love making “brinner” (breakfast for dinner) … or when my dad makes me a huge pot of chili, split pea soup, etc. that will last me a while so I don’t have to cook!

I WANT SUPPER! My fiance and I do a vegetarian meal for dinner every other night. It cuts down on grocery costs, is healthier, and (the real reason we committed to doing it) it’s good for the environment.

I WANT SUPPER! We love using what is left in our cabinets, freezers and fridge to plan a new meal. Ok, so sometimes we don’t love the meal, but we definitely is fun to mix it up and save money for some new decorative things all at once.

I want supper….and dessert too. During the holidays I like to have “cookie swaps” with friends and co-workers. It is so easy. Each person brings 2 dozen cookies and an empty container. Have a buffet table set up to display all the cookies. Fill your empty container with samples of each cookie. Ta-da…instant cookie assortment for the holidays.

” I want supper!” My favorite recipe is even easy for people like me who hate to cook…..it’s tortilla soup and it goes straight into the crock pot (chicken and all) and then I just pop on the top, set it for 8 hours and when I walk in the door my house smells wonderful and I only have a short time left until I have a no fuss and delicious dinner!

Every so often we mix things up by going through a recipe book our family and friends made for us when we got married. We make a new (or familiar) meal that reminds us of someone we love.

My husband teases me that my specialty is microwave popcorn.
I think if I had a specific grocery list with new recipes to try – I’d get out of my comfort zone! My “signature” dish is a home-made lasagna – but it takes sooooo long to make it (at least several hours) that I only make it maybe a couple times a year.
