My list of To Do’s is so long, but the one that is most important is to clear out the guest room and prep for the baby that’s coming in November. Need to repair / paint the walls, hang a ceiling fan, buy baby furniture, decorate, etc. etc. That’s just one room of our house!

This fall we need to repair/replace our garage door. Someone tried breaking in and bent the track. The door is stuck and open 4 inches on one side. We are afraid some animals might try to stay warm in there during the cold months. We are also redoing our bedroom…or should I say doing. Its only occupants are a bed and a tiny dresser. Lots of work to do!

I am looking forward to Halloween. Last year we had just moved into the house and I was very pregnant, so I didn’t get to decorate for my favorite holiday! We’re also planning my son’s first birthday party for December, and have possibly found a cat/baby friendly Christmas tree solution by forgoing ornaments and just putting a lit tree on our back porch so we can see it through the sliding glass door in the family room!
Right now I’m just desperate to get rid of these wood roaches. Do you guys have those up in VA (we’re in NC)?

Your mention of fireplaces is reminding me that we desperately do need to get the one in our bedroom cleaned so we can use it this winter. (So hard to motivate for that when it’s 85 degrees!) But my big fall/winter home improvement project is renovating one of our bathrooms. Now off to enter the Lowe’s contest too, since that sure would come in handy on that project!
