Fab Freebie: The Closers

We gave random.org the assignment again of helping us choose our winner and they chose… Sarah (who could think of 10 little projects that have added up that she could use this for). Congrats Sarah!

Since the early days of YHL, we’ve been buddies with the foursome over at One Project Closer. Ethan, Fred, and their wives Jocie and Kim dish up tutorials, tool reviews and decor posts to help us all get (say it with me) one project closer to our dream house. Recently they’ve launched a series of “Pro-Follows” where the boys tag along with professional contractors to document big projects like building a deck (which we may be referencing soon ourselves). But if that makes you break into a sweat, perhaps their new The Better Half section (where the ladies tackle design and craft projects) is more your speed. Whichever suits you, One Project Closer is helping someone get one hundred dollars closer this week with a $100 prize to the home improvement store of your choice. Now that should suit just about everyone, right?

    …to finishing our downstairs flooring! I mean, really, who puts in WHITE carpet?! Can’t wait to have enough dough to be done with it forever. Such a generous giveaway!

    Get me closer to….painting the kitchen! I peeled the fruity wallpaper, (that covered EVERY square inch of unprimed drywall), in the kitchen off last July. Although I have narrowed down the wall color choices, the walls are still naked and in need of repair before I can even start to paint.

    GET ME CLOSER … to enclosing our screened in porch! We would love to have floor to ceiling windows, french doors to the backyard and flow-y white sheers. Our house is lovely, but really tiny. This room would be a great play room for our little boy. :)

    GET ME CLOSER! We moved in December and are expecting baby #2 in June, so I’d really like to just get the two girls’ rooms done and squared away before the new one arrives! I’d love to makeover our toddler’s closet the way you did Clara’s! I think $100 would fit nicely into that little project, don’t you?

    GET ME CLOSER! We just installed a new front door this weekend and now the foyer area needs some work. We’ve decided our new best investment would be a table saw to help with all the other things we want/need to do around the house but we want to start there, new tile, new trim, all the wonderful details.

    GET ME CLOSER! I’ve been in this apartment for a month now and I’m going insane with these barren walls in my bedroom, and this lack of real organization in my bathroom. So one of those is next on my list.
    Although, I’d love to be able to set up a new desk, too. Moving only creates a whole new slew of problems! EEK!

    Get me closer… to having a finished floor on the main level. Asbestos linoleum gone, carpet out, parquet floor out, crappy particle board underlayment gone, and new plywood subflooring in place (thanks to my dad!). Up next… a real finished floor – unless I decide to take the wall out first. Either way, $100 would be a great contribution to the finish me fund!

    To finishing our master bath remodel. Our master bath doesn’t have a door or anywhere to put one so we have been trying to reconfigure the room for a pocket door.

    GET ME CLOSER…to taking down this horrible painted-over wall paper in the living room, re-painting, and then building some built-ins for around the fireplace. That way we can mount the TV over the fireplace, hide the components in the built-ins, and free up some space by getting rid of our entertainment console.
