We gave random.org the assignment again of helping us choose our winner and they chose… Sarah (who could think of 10 little projects that have added up that she could use this for). Congrats Sarah!

Since the early days of YHL, we’ve been buddies with the foursome over at One Project Closer. Ethan, Fred, and their wives Jocie and Kim dish up tutorials, tool reviews and decor posts to help us all get (say it with me) one project closer to our dream house. Recently they’ve launched a series of “Pro-Follows” where the boys tag along with professional contractors to document big projects like building a deck (which we may be referencing soon ourselves). But if that makes you break into a sweat, perhaps their new The Better Half section (where the ladies tackle design and craft projects) is more your speed. Whichever suits you, One Project Closer is helping someone get one hundred dollars closer this week with a $100 prize to the home improvement store of your choice. Now that should suit just about everyone, right?

    GET ME CLOSER to finishing my wall stencil. I got one from Royal Design Studio and I’m doing one wall in my kitchen and it’s taking FOREVER. Like, a month and a half.

    GET ME CLOSER to cleaning out the garage and basement, fixing the broken gate latch, separating some of the perennials, installing those last bits of trim that have been waiting mumble-mumble years (5!), and the list goes on and on…

    Get me closer! My husband and I have been in our first home for almost 2 years, and it still needs some finishing touches. Maybe some fresh paint, or even some additional art pieces. We are also still working on storage and organization. Oh, I almost forgot. I have been thinking about doing a backsplash in our kitchen. There are all kinds of colorful spots on the walls from using our juicer almost daily. A glass backsplash would be easy to wipe clean I would think! Thanks!

    Get me closer!!!! I wish we were closer to being finished getting new windows installed! We are getting the official measurements and ordering done tomorrow, so it’s really only just begun!

    I’m ready to be done unpacking and organizing my house. Our one year mark is coming up very soon and there are still boxes in some of the rooms (garage). I still have some rooms to paint as well.

    to all the piddly things that need doing, but you just get so used to them you don’t even notice that the trim needs caulking or the paint needs touching up.

    GET ME CLOSER! We just sold a house we loved and bought a new fixer upper in the neighborhood where we want our son to go to school! We will be frequenting your site regularly for inspiration, motivation and been there done that tips. Project one: make the to do list!

    GET ME CLOSER!! I would love to get my sons’ rooms painted. We moved in last September, had a baby a day later and haven’t managed to get their rooms finished! It’s driving me crazy! This gift card would be a huge blessing! :)

    GET ME CLOSER and help me knock one thing off my growing ‘to do’ list! We’re closing on a house in 3 weeks and we will be: replacing the shutters from dull to fabulous, refinishing a basement that includes a home office for me in part of it, replacing the master bathroom floors, buying more furniture to fill our bigger house than our current…. Baby steps.

    Get me closer to having all the floors in the house completed!!! Get me closer to having all the baseboards painted and the list goes on. It feels like forever since we have had all of the rooms of our house in a functional state.
    I would love to win this, but frankly I would have responded to this post just to vent!

    GET ME CLOSER!! to getting an attic :) We have a space but no real attic door or ladder so the gift card would be GREAT for getting that done. I would also love to get on the ball with painting our master & creating a “cottage chic” look to our entire house. If we can’t sell in this market, then we must make it a place we LoVe :)
