We gave random.org the assignment again of helping us choose our winner and they chose… Sarah (who could think of 10 little projects that have added up that she could use this for). Congrats Sarah!

Since the early days of YHL, we’ve been buddies with the foursome over at One Project Closer. Ethan, Fred, and their wives Jocie and Kim dish up tutorials, tool reviews and decor posts to help us all get (say it with me) one project closer to our dream house. Recently they’ve launched a series of “Pro-Follows” where the boys tag along with professional contractors to document big projects like building a deck (which we may be referencing soon ourselves). But if that makes you break into a sweat, perhaps their new The Better Half section (where the ladies tackle design and craft projects) is more your speed. Whichever suits you, One Project Closer is helping someone get one hundred dollars closer this week with a $100 prize to the home improvement store of your choice. Now that should suit just about everyone, right?

    GET ME CLOSER to starting the decorating projects in our first home! My husband and I are closing on our first home in 3 weeks and can’t WAIT to start the decorating and reno projects!

    And btw…we LOVE reading yalls blog! It’s such an inspiration!

    We need flooring to replace the nasty old carpet in our vintage 1971 home! Or paint for the walls! Or something awesome for a backsplash!

    GET ME CLOSER to getting my laundry room/mud room cleaned out, reorganized with new paint, new flooring, new shelving, and some good old DIY work to come up with a hat tree/storage unit. This would definitely kick start that room!

    Get me closer…to reupholstering the dining chairs in our furnished rental so they we don’t leave them all ripped up and stained when we move out in a couple of months. The gift certificate would really come in handy once we buy our first house, which we are hoping to do not long after we move to Florida this summer. I’m looking forward to the house projects we will have then.

    I would love to repaint our master suite! It was first on my list when we moved in – after the kitchen, the den, the nursery, and the dining room. Needless to say, we’ve done those rooms, a bathroom, a second nursery, the dining room again, and the den a total of three times. Since not many folks go into the master suite, its just never made it to the top. A $100 gift card would go a long way to refreshing the master bed and bath!

    “GET ME CLOSER” to finishing the stairs in my new house! I just bought a HUD house and the stairs are the remains of pulled up carpet and pressed wood treads, complete with carpet staples sticking out of them!

    Get Me Closer!! We are getting ready to do new windows, siding, roof, and some other things on a house we just bought! Our contractor cant start for another month, so needless to say I am itching to get started!!

    GET ME CLOSER… to repainting the kitchen. We had to do some wall repair, and the “color-matching” paint doesn’t actually match the current color, so now 1/3 of a wall is slightly darker, thus making it look like it’s constantly in shadow.

    Get me closer to…finishing the back bedroom! All that’s left is ripping up the carpet, refinishing the hardwood floors, painting the trim, adding curtains, a ceiling light fixture, and buying furniture for the room. I’m hoping to finish this weekend so I can move onto the next room! My list of what to do around the house is about as long as yours and I’m determined to get all major projects finished by Thanksgiving.
