Fab Freebie: The Closers

We gave random.org the assignment again of helping us choose our winner and they chose… Sarah (who could think of 10 little projects that have added up that she could use this for). Congrats Sarah!

Since the early days of YHL, we’ve been buddies with the foursome over at One Project Closer. Ethan, Fred, and their wives Jocie and Kim dish up tutorials, tool reviews and decor posts to help us all get (say it with me) one project closer to our dream house. Recently they’ve launched a series of “Pro-Follows” where the boys tag along with professional contractors to document big projects like building a deck (which we may be referencing soon ourselves). But if that makes you break into a sweat, perhaps their new The Better Half section (where the ladies tackle design and craft projects) is more your speed. Whichever suits you, One Project Closer is helping someone get one hundred dollars closer this week with a $100 prize to the home improvement store of your choice. Now that should suit just about everyone, right?

    Get me closer! My husband has been saying he’s going to frame these irregularly-sized large prints himself since it’s too expensive to get Michael’s or somewhere similar to do it… but he has been dragging his feet on getting all the supplies! This would be a big kick in the pants for him. ;)

    to clearing out and FINISHING my home office. It’s been 6 years, and it’s still holds most of my wife’s/dogs’ stuff and isn’t completely done.

    There are so many but PLEASE Get Me Closer to re-painting our kitchen, living room, bathroom, and laundry room after getting ALL of the pipes in the house replaced.

    GET ME CLOSER to finishing our yard! It’s such a big task ( the front was started but we’re redoing almost everything and the back is a blank slate). We’re excited about the journey but I can picture so many things finished in my mind and it’s hard to be patient with how long it’s really taking. :)

    I really want to get my yard done. My hubby has been so busy that it’s quite neglected. As far as the inside goes, I’d definitely pick my bedroom. It’s always the last on the list.

    GET ME CLOSER to finishing my son’s room. He went away to college and lost his bigger room to his little sister. Now I am trying to make his new much smaller room comfortable for him when he comes home for the summer.

    GET ME CLOSER! to finishing/starting my husband’s home office. It has wood paneling from 1970 (when the house was built). We need to take paneling off, tape, mud and sand the drywall behind the paneling… why they did that I will never know… then paint and organize for better office efficiency :-)

    GET ME CLOSER

    To switching our downstairs bathroom and laundry “closet”. The bathroom has so much wasted space for just a toilet and sink. Switching them would allow for us to have a utility sink (great for those cloth diapers!) and more room to sort/organize the laundry.

    GET ME CLOSER! I need to make a headboard ASAP. We have to keep our frame bumped out from the wall so it doesn’t interfere with the power outlet, and the gap is a pillow devouring annoyance. I need $$ to be able to buy the supplies at Blue or Orange!

    GET ME CLOSER! I’m a seamstress and while I’m always working on a wedding gown or party dress or home improvement project for…someone else…I never seem to have the time or funds to finish several projects for myself. Like painting and reupholstering this fantastic chair that’s sitting up on my stair landing. Or freshening up our hardworking coffee-center table with a nice lacquered finish that won’t show stray grounds so obviously. Or building a new portable display unit for the artisan markets I occasionally vend at. So many things to finish!

    Get me closer!

    Our kitchen is in need of some serious renovation. It hasn’t been updated since 1913. Imagine mauve tile countertops, very little counter space, and no dishwasher and you’d be imagining our kitchen. :)
