Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

Wow, about the edgiest thing we ever do is Bachelor Night. No, we don’t watch the show. We put on some sloppy clothes, and we pull out the chips, sodas, and pizza, and we just veg in front of the tv (Netflix, actually. We don’t have cable). It sounds so lame now that I type it out, but it really is a lot of fun!

These days living on the edge is going to the grocery store with both kids in tow. There was a time however, when my oldest was 2 weeks old, that I *might* have re-textured the ceiling of my living room while breastfeeding.

Most cutting edge thing I do is not use birth control. It took my husband and I five years to conceive our son (who is 3 months old today!!!) and we knew a long time ago that we would never prevent another pregnancy. Duggars, watch out! ;)

P.S. we just re-did our master bedroom and upon your recommendation, we bought a stencil from them and did an accent wall. We LOVE it. I love their geometric designs :) I would love another stencil to redo another room or piece of furniture!
    Thanks for the opportunity!

EDGE ME! – My husband and I go rock climbing every weekend or so. He is very thorough about safety matters and double checks everything, so it’s really just as safe as any other sport, but it sure does get the adrenaline going! We actually go to a gym in Midlothian (Peak Experiences) from time to time because his mom lives there. It’s great fun and we love it!

Edge me! I have used these stencils before and love them. I live life on the edge by stenciling! I accidentally stenciled with a flatter paint than my wall and my husband thought that I wallpapered. Its amazing what mixing sheens in a stenciling project will do!

Edge me! We’re not living on the edge, so much as living on the edge of our seats! We’re trying to purchase a short sale and it is going incredibly slowly. We just want to make some progress and close this summer so we can clean up the (already awesome) landscaping before winter, but the bank is taking its sweet ol’ time.

EDGE ME! I’m going to live on the edge by painting drop cloths to make curtains for our family room. I can’t find the kind of fabric I’m looking for in any store or on-line, so I’m going to “make” my own. A stencil would definitely help.
