Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

    EDGE ME!

Our high school football coach is a retired Marine and that background means he has a procedure for everything, including the team laundry. He doesn’t allow the players to take them home to launder because, “He doesn’t want somebody’s Momma or maid turning his jerseys pink!”
Most people believe the fact that I transport an entire varsity football team’s uniforms in an SUV, lay them out on tables in my driveway to pre-treat, wash, dry and fold them up military style is not only disgusting, but pretty edgy too! I think it means I ain’t afraid of no ghosts, no stinky uniforms, and no stencils! Hurry & let me be the winner so I can paint before football starts again! :-)

I would love to live on the edge more often — but, the edgiest thing I do would be channelling my inner teen when driving by myself on a pretty day (picture windows down, sunroof open, the radio blaring, me dancing, and singing at the top of my lungs)!

Um…does occasionally staying up past 10 count?

No really, we do all of our DIY stuff ourselves…taking out a load bearing wall, putting in a header, refinishing our floors, redoing the wiring in our whole house, putting on a new roof, putting in a gas line for the range. No contractors coming to this cheapskate’s house.

EDGE ME! I suppose quitting my job is living on the edge, right? Trading my office job job to try my hand at being a baker. Probably doesn’t sound that edgy but it sure was scary to make that change (that and the prospect of waking up at 4am everyday, yikes)!

I recently started dating a guy who is an “extreme sports nerd” (as he explains himself). He skydives, does motocross, hunts, does mountain biking, etc. He’s a great guy and a ton of fun.

I live life on the edge by trying new things, most recently riding a motocross bike. I must admit…I was a natural!

EDGE ME….after having kids, my desire for living on the edge is very minimal. Our most adventurous day was a mile hike last week where surely a snake was laying in waiting to bite us or perhaps a bear was eyeing us up for lunch.

Living on the edge for me is letting my 4 year old sleepover at a friend’s house. She is a talker and doesn’t go to sleep easily, so it involved many trips upstairs, threats, promises and bribes.
