Fab Freebie: The Cutting Edge

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

We’ve got two names to announce as the random winners this week and they are… Eileen Marie (who lives on the edge by teaching on the “mean streets of Chicago”) and Kristin M (who is the mom to a “crazy 2 year old” – which is a life on the edge that we can relate to). Congrats ladies! And for everyone else, Cutting Edge Stencils added a 20% discount code – YHL20 –  that’s good through Sunday. Sweet!

Who wants to jump on the wall stencil bandwagon with us (remember when Sherry spent 14 hours stenciling our office last October? Well how does a $50 nudge sound? Because the folks at Cutting Edge Stencils are gonna give two of you a gift card that’ll cover just about any stencil in their catalog – from florals and geometrics to damasks and graphic shapes. They’ve even got a new collection of stencils created by Design Star winner Kim Myles (we especially love her gingko leaf design on the right). And is the one on the top left giving anyone else Jeff Lewis vibes?

Cutting Edge Stencil Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $50 to Cutting Edge Stencils
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “EDGE ME!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … how you live life on the edge. I ask this somewhat sarcastically since life on the edge for us usually includes eating a second dessert or negotiating a good yard sale deal. But if you’ve really done (or regularly do) something thrilling or outrageous, we’d love to hear about it.
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 6th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • DISCOUNT: 20% off with code YHL20 through 6/17
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Cutting Edge Stencils.

EDGE ME! Like that time I got almost got stuck alone in Kenya on my way to Burundi when the driver I hired got in a yelling match with a guy waving an M16 around. No– I’m not joking.

Edge me! The most edgy thing I do these days is to stay up till 10:30, now that we have a 3-yr-old and a 22-month old! Ha ha! Or, maybe it’s letting them try to feed me their pre-chewed food! Ew! Who says my life’s not “edgy”!!

    EDGE ME!

On a day to day basis there is not a lot of risky things happening, but if the opportunity opens to do something crazy like bridge jumping or white water rafting down crazy rapids, I can’t pass it up! I am terrified at first, but once I am doing it, I love the thrill!

EDGE ME!! I don’t live life on the edge at all, ha! I have to stay far, far from the edge or my 2 year old would surely jump off. Stenciling sounds super fun though, and also exhausting enough to drive me a little closer to the edge!

Edge Me! I’d say my using my bike as my primary mode of transportation to get around the city/ life can be living on the edge- depending on the mood/ awareness of the drivers around me. Usually not bad, but I had too many close calls!

EDGE ME!! Living on the edge for me is committing to a decision for the house we are building. I will know all along that I want something a certain way, but when it comes to setting it in stone I get cold feet! Good thing I didn’t do that when it came to marrying my hubby! :)

Will I still be able to get a good night’s sleep? Or will she wake and I end up a zombie tomorrow? Could go either way! Living on the edge.

I can’t think of anything particularily edgy… maybe our little excursion to a cave tour in the Dominican Republic? Suffice to say that my spanish speaking husband didn’t think it was important to tell me that they tour guides were discussing whether or not the cave was flooded and/or the road to the cave was flooded for most of our drive there. We survived… and have the video to prove it. :)

Edge me! Hands down, the most thrilling thing I’ve done was to give birth naturally to my daughter. When in high school, I did the skycoaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skycoaster) and the high from that was incredible. The endorphins from a natural birth was 10 times that! No kidding!
