i am working on my 7th and largest tattoo at the moment. this one is a half sleeve of an angel on my right upper arm and she is in remembrance of the greatest woman i’ve ever known…my grandmom!! the angel also has a rainbow above her to represent my pride for my son who is gay and out at 16 yrs old.

Eh.. but not with the real kind. I’m the only one in my immediate family without a tattoo, which is kind of weird.. even my conservative mother has one. I’ve just never felt so strongly about a symbol/word/whatever that I wanted to have it permanently placed on my body. If I ever do, it will be someplace easily hidden, like my ribcage.

I actually have 4 tattoos, when I say that out loud it seems like a lot.
1. on my hip- my best friends initials-he died when I was 18 so i got this for him with wings :)
2. on my back-my last name. Someday I will give up my name for the man I love, and this way I can always have some tribute to myself and who I am always, plus I love my last name-RODRIGUEZ :)It will always remind me of my dad as well!
3. on my foot- my two brothers initials intertwined
4. on my side- two skeleton keys on a ribbon. one for me and one for my mom! Her maiden name is keys and I have a lot of decorations in my house with keys all over.
All of my tattoos are fairly small and cant be seen right when looking at me, I did this because I work in a professional setting. But they all mean a lot to me, and I hope they will look decent when I am 80 in a nursing home, and I can tell the orderlys “yeah I used to be quite the girl” :)

One tattoo on my lower back. It is “family” in Chinese.It matches my husbands tattoo on his upper back, our 19 year old son is getting the same tattoo in a few weeks. Our 15 year old son is counting down the days until he is 19 so he can get the same tattoo, hehe. Our 7 year old daughter is adopted from China so our tattoo has special meaning for us.
