Oh, about 18 years ago on a spring Sunday evening just about prom season time, my mom took me to get a tattoo. It’s in chinese and means ‘soul and spirit’. I had really wanted ‘courage’ but didn’t think I could sit still that long!!!

Tattoo Me! I’m actually not down with the tattoos. My parents always said I should respect my body and not ink it. They were the same way about piercings. I had to get all my pierces approved and it had to be done based on the Chinese astrology so that I don’t choose a “weak” time to do it. It leaves me vunerable to ppl who want to do harm. I’m glad my parents were that way bc in high school everyone on a whim got one. Well, 12 years later, I know a few friends whose tattoos still bother them bc it never healed correctly or the artist messed up their design.

Every time I get the idea for a tattoo I let it marinate and then a few months later I discard it. I don’t think I’ll ever find something that I will want (mostly) permanently on my skin! I really like the tattoo look though!

One of an angel for my dad, the other my zodiac sign (aquarius), a chinese symbol meaning friend (my best friend has a matching one), and a giant flower/black circle/curvy line design that I got to cover a four leaf clover. Beside the four leaf clover I love them all and can’t wait to add to it.

I’ve been wanting to get a tattoo for a few years now…actually since not long after we began our now 6 year battle with infertility. While my husband and I may not always struggle with infertility, we will always be advocates for those who do.
