Fab Freebie: The Devil’s In The Details

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll down to see who won!***

Thanks to the devilish randomization that is random.org, our two winners are… Steph (who was just talking to a colleague about the two tattoos she has…for now) and Alason (who’s thinks her little butterfly tattoo on her back makes people assume she’s a bad girl). Congrats ladies!

Since you guys seemed to enjoy last week’s spring cleaning related giveaway, how about another? Your house can’t possibly be all cleaned up yet can it? This one comes from the folks over at Dirt Devil who are gonna hook two of you up with a tattoo. But you’re not going to disappoint the parental units in this case. The Tattoo is a light-but-powerful canister vacuum that boasts an ornate “tattoo” design on its body, comes in four devilish hues, and includes cool details like an automatic cord rewind feature. You know, so you can suck with style.

Dirt Devil Tattoo

  • PRIZE: A Dirt Devil Fantasy Tattoo series canister vacuum in any color
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “TATTOO ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … dish about what tattoo(s) you have, wish you had, wish you didn’t have, or never ever wanted (feel free to share the where and the why too if you’d like).
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, April 6th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States and Canada
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just like rewarding our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Dirt Devil.

No tatto’s for me quite yet, although I’ve always wanted a small, meaningful one on the inside of my wrist.

    Tattoo Me!

My favorite tattoo that I have is on my ankle. It says, “Think of me once in a while. Love, Chuck.” My Grandfather wrote this quote on a photo of himself that he mailed back to his family while in the Navy. After he passed, I found the photo and got the quote tattoo’d on my ankle in his exact handwriting. Something I’ll never regret!

I have 3 tattoos and let me tell you they were much “cooler” 10 years ago and pre-baby. Now I look at my husband and think “Wow you were right, I should NOT have done this.” But he doesn’t need to know that!

    TATTOO ME!
I don’t have any tattoos but I’ve always kind of wanted one. The trouble is I can never think of something I’d want stuck on myself for ever. The only design I’ve seen that I truly loved was a tattoo of the last page of The Paper Bag Princess where she’s running into the sunset. Such a great image but I wouldn’t want to copy someone else’s tattoo. I guess this awesome vacuum will have to suffice for now!

    TATTOO ME!

…I seem to be in the vast minority of tattoo-having people here. I have five: a small generic star/heart/moon combo on my right boob that I got when I was 19 (and regret only because it’s generic), some lyrics (“the world has its shine”) on the inside of my left wrist, two macbook keys that say “<3" on the side of my right wrist, a trail of stars starting at my collarbone and going over my shoulder with the words "be clearly aware" (from the van Gogh quote, "be clearly aware of the stars and infinity on high, then life seems almost enchanted after all" — careful readers will recognize this as a Fall Out Boy reference, as well), and two trapeze lady silhouettes in a teal victorian frame between my shoulder blades–this one represents my nomadic circus-performing lesbian parents and is my most recent. Next week I am probably going to get my sixth, the words "the heart, not knowing any better, kept going", which is a line from a book of my 4 year old son's called "Olive my love," and is, in context, about a heart-shaped box of chocolates flying out of a car, but out of context, resonated with me very strongly!

I've read a few comments here where people say they can't think of anything they care about enough that they would still want it on their body in a decade or two, but my view of them is different; for me, I recognize that something that means one thing to me now will almost certainly not bear the same significance to me in 10 or 15 years, but it does capture a moment in time and the way I felt about it then, so it's more a piece of me and my history than it is some decoration that has to stay relevant forever. And as far as what they'll look like when I'm 75…well, I think I'll have bigger problems then than what I look like in the buff, I guess.

I don’t have a tattoo yet, can’t seem to decide on exactly the right one….but in my teens/early twenties I used to draw an outline of a star on my foot (which I’m sure looked much sillier than I thought), just never got brave enough to do it for real :)
