Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

And I bought my very first puffy down parka this winter. I learned after last year’s blizzard how lacking my winter wardrobe was. Next, I need a better pair of snow boots!

    HEAT ME UP!

It’s Southern California but it’s still been nippy here, plus we only have one small heating unit for 650 sq feet… so I take advantage of cozy wool slippers, layers of clothing, and blankets! Actually I had a dream about electric blankets the night before last and my partner said I was smiling in my sleep. Hmmm. :-/

“HEAT ME UP!” I stay warm with layers of clothes — fleece on top. And I love a warm bed buddy — which is a sock filled with rice and then heated in the microwave. Nothing better on a cold day — morning, noon or night.

Heat me up! We just added more insulation in hopes of keeping the heat in our house. Our bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room were an addition to our house..incorrectly done! and now..its always cold or hot..The heat does not keep those rooms warm. We were just told to get a space heater (yikes!) to keep the pipes in the laundry room from freezing and creating problems…so we would love to have this to keep us warm!!

We’ve been totally pinching the pennies this winter. The heat has been set at 60, or sometimes 50, when the weather outside is frightful (or -10 to be exact). A heater in the bedroom would be fantastic!

Confession time… tell me I’m not the only one who’s used a hairdryer to warm the sheets up before hopping into bed? Electric blankets freak me out (my parents set their house on fire with one in the 70s).

Our little rental house is heated by a single, wall-mounted heater unit—so in addition to keeping our ceiling fan on low (to help move the warm air around the rest of the house), we snuggle up under blankets and spend LOTS of time in hoodies!

    HEAT ME UP!!!

It’s sooo cold and snowy here in MN (thanks to the awful blizzard in Dec), the best way that I was able to get warm during the holidays was to arrive in KC, MO to see family on the day that it hit 68. Woo hoo! Alas, back in town, even the office is cold. I’m drinking a mocha, using my coat as a blanket while I work, and I try hard not to look out the window to see the snow falling…again…
