Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

Heat me up! I am enjoying the winter from southern California, so an extra blanket on the bed, and an umbrella to combat all the rain, is all I’ve needed this winter.

    HEAT ME UP!

I got a great pair of winter boots from an outlet mall last year. They’re rubber on the bottom of my feet, so I don’t have to worry about them getting ruined in rain or snow, and they’ve got nice fur lining around the tops, which hit a few inches above my ankle. They’re rated to -25 degrees, so they keep my feet feeling nice and toasty, which helps me stay warm!

our trick is to keep the furnace off in half the house at a time. Sounds weird but if both halves are heated, we run out of gas pressure….

I live in an apratment in a very old home – and the landlords aren’t as meticulous in their renovations as the writers of a certain blog ;) So there are blankets and sweats to fight off the draft from the many cracks.

    HEAT ME UP!

I live continually under a thermal blanket, which I drag around the house. Sometimes I tie it up, toga- or sari-style, if I need both hands free.

The worst part of this is that I’m a knitter, and could make my own hug-me-tight wrap around shawl like women had in pioneer days out of nice cozy wool.

Alas, I am too lazy, and I drag around a blanket. :-)

We keep the heat at 58, so we layer, layer, and layer some more; from clothes to blankets. I’m usually in yoga pants, a short sleeved t-shirt, and a sweatshirt of some sort, and then if I’m on the couch, I’m under a down blanket. Slippers optional.
