Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

    “Heat Me Up!”

I live in Arizona so normally we take the “winter challenge” as we like to call it. We do not turn our heat on all winter. It is definitely freezing at night, though. Warm socks, warm pj’s and about 5 blankets usually work!

As someone who is constantly cold almost year round, I have found it extra difficult to stay warm as the temp around my area is averaging 10 degrees, and I live in an old, drafty house that I can’t fix because my husband and I rent.
So, what I have I been doing to pretend I’m warm? Making garden plans and dreaming of the warm months to come while piled with blankets!

    HEAT ME UP!

I live in MS, but we have had a few really cold days. Mostly it’s in the 30’s though, so we save energy by only heating part of the house – which is safe as long as it’s above freezing.

And to stay warm, my sweet husband starts my car every morning before my baby and I leave for daycare/work! And I bought a Keurig coffee pot and I sip Mudslide coffee to stay cozy all day long! ;)

I love apple cider and usually make extra since I never enjoy a cup to myself. There’s always at least one child begging for some. It always makes me smile. I try to offer them their own but mine tastes better.

    KEEP ME DRY!
    LET IT GLOW!

I just relocated to Southern California from the Midwest – after getting married this past September. Fully aware of chilly nighttime air, I was totally game and prepared with my windbreakers and multiple hoodies. Ahem… I was not prepared for the torrential rains that have flooded Laguna Beach and the counties around. Sheets and sheets of dreary gray rain. Now, there’s snow in Las Vegas?

The perfect remedy that will always bring a smile to my face is to be able to flip the switch and have a nice fire for warmth all night long – while neighbors nearby smoking with just a tad of envy for the glowing flicker from one of these cute little fireplaces:)

I luv luv your blog and all the shared experiences on remodeling and growing into a space as that is what I am trying to do to also! Keep up the great work and fresh writing. Thanks and all the best!

    HEAT ME UP!

For some ridiculous reason, I’m beating the heat by taking advantage of the fact that everyone frolics to where its warm… leaving super cheap tickets to the colder parts of Europe. I’m going to need one of these to thaw myself out when I get back though, as my house is the only one I know without a logical place for a fireplace. Santa had to break a window.

    HEAT ME UP!

I’m always wearing five more layers than anyone else in the house! I layer worn out cashmere over an undershirt and under long sleeved T shirts. Then I put on at least one more layer of wool. I wear wool socks and sheep skin slippers. I wear hats in the house and a down vest. When all that falls short I get in a very hot bath.

I am the coldest person I know!

We keep the thermostat low. We did replace our very old furnace and are very glad that we are using energy much more efficiently these days.
