Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

I’m almost ashamed to say it, but my grandmother bought me a Slanket, and I plan on using it every day until spring!

At home, I have a heated mattress pad for sleeping, and a pair of sheepskin slippers for roaming the house.

At work, I sit on a heating pad. Best $20 I ever spent.

“Heat me up!” I live in Wyoming and it was below zero for our high one day this week, and the highest it has gotten is 8 degrees. So we are always trying to stay warm. One of the things we do is never turn off the car, let it run, or you are going to have to re-scrape windows even if you are only in the store for 15 minutes. And scraping windows in -5 degrees sucks buckets!

I hate spending a fortune on my electric bill every month, so in the winter I use 3 or 4 blankets to keep warm. It may not be preferable but it sure does keep the bill down.

I’m always cold, so to stay warm(er) this winter, I got myself a knitted hat, gloves, and lots of scarfs! I also have a pair of indoor fleece-lined flats that I wear around the house. It’d make a BIG difference having one of these heaters in my place!

I always carry a space heater from room to room. My husband calls me an iguana because I have to be warm at all times. If I could turn every item of furniture in my into a hot rock (without risk of burning the house down), I totally would.

I live in Florida and we are having a super chilly winter. These houses are not made for this kind of cold, so we use our down comforter at night and wear layers during the daytime. Lots of hot drinks, too. Also, I hate to admit it, but we are turning the heat up quite a bit, as well.
