Fab Freebie: The Heat Is On

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – scroll to the bottom to see who won!***

Is it hot in here or is it just these? Har har. But seriously, Air & Water offers a slew of heating, cooling and even humidifying products for your home, and this week one of you is gonna score one of these electric fireplaces on the house:

AirNWater Heaters

Whether you go for the modern and colorful Mini Cube ($100), the large and traditional Lincoln ($300) or something in between, like the Danville or the Compact Electric ($130) you’ll be adding function and ambiance to any less-than-warm space. My mom actually has one like the Compact Electric and it was quite a hit over the Christmas holiday (the one-button remote couldn’t have been easier).

So here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: One electric fireplace from Air & Water (choose from the Mini Cube, Lincoln, Danville or Compact Electric).
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HEAT ME UP!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us how you’re staying warm this winter (new coat? lots of hot chocolate?) or if your area’s weather has even required any stay-warm tactics (we had one of the coldest Decembers on record, but maybe you’ve been enjoying t-shirt weather?)
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, January 5th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

******************************

Random.org has chosen a winner and it’s… Annette Nelson (who keeps warm by heating up a rice bag she made from Sew Mama Sew). Congrats!

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Air & Water.

    ” Heat Me Up!”
Staying warm for this family of four is: Layers of sweatshirts, down vests, wool socks, fuzzy slippers, long silk underwear, sweat pants or fleece pants, tobogans (my husband calls them that), down blankets on the couches and beds and afghans that we found at Goodwill. Heat and electricity is a luxury and we are learning to live with less right now. We have experienced this NC cold too.

    Thank you for the giveaway,
    Teresa T.

Chilly? Um,yes….we have had over a foot of snow so far this winter here in NC, and we are FREEZING!! The kiddos have enjoyed playing in the snow, but we could sure use some extra warmth to keep us cozy for the rest of winter :)

Last week, DH and I bought a dual-controlled electric blanket for our king-sized bed. We flip it on 10 or 15 min. before heading in to get ready for bed, and by the time we slip between the sheets, it’s heavenly!

Girrrrl I am telling you we are freezing our little patoots off over here. Yes, I know we live in California and the rest of the country would love to punch me in the face for saying that, but this is Northern Ca, not LA … and our furnace was built in the stone age (aka it is not recommended that we turn it on … Ever.) heat us up man! These space heaters can only do so much :)

When I get home, off go the work clothes & on go what my husband has unceremoniously dubbed “the homeless gear” – layers of thermal underwear, under sweatpants, under robe, under snuggy, sometimes with mittens & scarf as well. Since we keep the temp in the house @ 61 (to save $$$), it is the only way I can stay warm! That & lots of chai tea, YUM!

As far as the bonus question…I live in Minnesota. Our winter has been brutal this year. We do the plastic on the windows and got a new front door with weather stripping installed this fall. That’s helped. We’re doing an program through our electric/gas provider where they come out to install water heater blankets and a programmable thermostat as well. We also bought a new huge down comforter too.
